About Me

Hello fellow couchsurfians!

I don't think that is a word, but let's pretend it is and has been used for centuries.

First of all I am Daniel and I come from Portugal, that little country at the end of the known world, well at least until the 13th-14th century? My history it's a big shaky at the moment.

I am a really open minded person, down for new activities and new experiences, I can lose myself in a town really fast since I love to room around and just enjoy every single bit of what it has to offer.

Architecture, landscapes, street art, it doesn't matter what it is, it will catch my attention sooner or later.

I am a really sporty person, surfing is my thing and when there are no waves surfing on the concrete its a good alternative as well, for those who don't know what surfing on concrete is, well it's more painful for once and second it's skating or carving using a long board skateboard.

Unfortunately I can't bring my board with me due to over taxes you need to pay on the flights. It's a shame because cities around Europe offer the best places to room around on a long board and just to chill.

I make friends easily and I just love meeting random people. It's just my thing, I guess you have so many things to learn I you just stop for a second and say hi to someone on the street.

This is me.. :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First of all I don't have much money.

Second, I don't really know much people in the countries i'll visit so staying at someones place it will give me the opportunity to save some money on hostel fees and to meet new people as well.

It's better when you have someone that it's a native to show you around or just to share their knowledge about their town, because who better than a native to do that.

Interests

I'm an avid reader, at the moment mostly it has to do with anatomy, nutrition, bio mechanics, subjects that have to do with my college degree.

I am a surfer, surfing for me it's the best thing you can do to blow off some steam. It is right that some surfing spots at some periods in the month are filled with people however you are one with the ocean and the ocean is one with you. Everything you had on your mind disappears for that amount of time that you wait for the next wave to hit. It's like a drug, you tell yourself one more wave and i'll go home, however when you realized that last wave was 15 waves ago.

I enjoy visiting cities on my long board, it is a cheap way to move around and it's fun as hell. It's a pity that sometimes I can't bring it with me because of additional fees on the flight.

I enjoy watching movies, listening to music, I don't have a preferred genre, If it's good I'll listen to it and watch it.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music I listen to everything and anything, if it sounds good i'll listen to it.

Same goes for movies as well.

Books, now that's another story, I love history related literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done..

Well for once, I managed to catch a 2,5-3 wave one day at the beach and surf it or ride it how ever you prefere and the velocity and the adrenaline that that moment gave me remained with me for ever. It was such an awesome moment.

I've hicked to the tallest point in my town with one of my friends on her last days in the country and when we reached the top it was such an amazing view.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you things about surfing, skateboarding, about Portugal, about Romania.

I can offer you some help with French, English, Romanian or Portuguese and I'll try to speak a little bit in Spanish as well even though it's practically non existant. haha

I can share my story, who I am how come i ended up there, and other stories I've had over the years with my friends.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My easy going personality, my jokes, my knowledge about the countries where I've lived the most until now.

I can give you fitness advice, languages advice, practice my languages with you if that is the case.
