Overview
About Me
I'm living the dream in central (inaka) Nara in Japan. I've been a competitive runner for over 10 years so if you happen to also be a runner it would be wonderful to go out on a run together.
まだペラペラじゃないけど日本語も話せる。英語を話せないの客も全然大丈夫よ!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Like most people on this website I love traveling. Saving a little money on places to stay means I can do more interesting stuff during the day. I think staying with someone from the area is also a great way to meet interesting new people and authentically learn more about the area.
Interests
As mentioned earlier I'm a runner at heart and I really love nature. I actively study Japanese daily and love to learn new things. I love to converse which is one of the biggest disadvantages to living alone!

Music, Movies, and Books
My music interests are typically more eclectic and broad. I probably listen to hip-hop the most of any particular genre.
In terms of books I largely read fantasy novels, although I don't read as much as I'd like to. I'm currently enjoying "Inheritance."
I'm a very analytic movie watcher so I prefer to watch intricate movies. My favorite directors include Tarantino, Kurosawa, Christopher Nolan, and the Coen Brothers among others.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In December I volunteered at the Baan Dada Orphanage in rural Thailand for a week through Christmas. It was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had and I plan on returning yearly hereafter!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I really love to learn so I'd really love to share dialogue with hosts. My most concentrated fields of study are education, English literature, world religion, and Japanese culture, however I'd love to discuss and share about anything outside of those fields of study as well!
