About Me

Hi! My name is Natália, I'm Brazilian and I'm an exchange student in France. I'm here for six months, until the end of July. I study cinema here, in Lyon, and also in my home city, São Paulo.
I love to travel and that is one of the reasons I wanted so much to live abroad: I love to get to know other cities!
The things that I like to do the most when I travel is to walk around and know people from the place I'm visiting. I love to go to museums, churches etc, but there's nothing better to know a different culture than to be lost in the city and make local friends!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is a great way to learn about different cultures and to make good friends. I met incredible people through this community and had the chance to know better the cities I travelled to.
Is there a better way to know a new place than doing it through the eyes of someone who really lives there? I don't think so. Here we have the chance of knowing our destination in a deeper way than if we'd just follow a guide book.
Besides, I also don't think there's a better way of making friends. The people I met through Couchsurfing were really open, kind and interested about my life and ideas too. I think that it couldn't be different, once the community is all about sharing and meeting new people. How can a person that is open to share his home, his day-by-day and his thoughts with people that he had never met before can be a bad person? Couchsurfing members are always potential good friends :)
Finally, one last reason that made me join the community was my will to show my city to other people. São Paulo is never the main destination of travellers who think of going to Brazil and I think that is a shame because it has a lot of hidden beauties to be discovered. I'd love to take Couchsurfing guests to my favourite spots in São Paulo when I come back to Brazil!
