Présentation
À propos de moi
I studied history at the National University of Colombia and now I am doing a master degree in gender studies. Since I was 15, in my free time I work as a free-lance photographer just because I enjoy it.
I love contemporary dance, even if I don't dance it much anymore. I'm a sportive person. I have been playing basketball since I was 10 and I started playing soccer 3 years ago. I've biked around my city since I was in high school, but recently I discovered how much fun it can be biking longer and harder routes. Now I love it.
My favorite landscape is dark green foggy mountains. Lucky me, I live in Bogotá, where I have them next to the city.
My goal is to travel the world one step at the time :)
PHILOSOPHY:
-When was the last time you did something for the first time?
-Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
My favorite thing in the world is traveling. Know new places, new people, new points of view and life experiences! With CS I discovered that you can share and receive, both things when you are host and guess :)
When you are traveling with CS, you not only get to know cities but the entire world of different people. And... thanks to CS I've got to know people I would never meet anywhere else. I even got to meet two different, no related, participants of the t.v. show "naked and afraid".
Centres d'intérêt
I have been playing basketball since I was 10. I love it. Recently I started playing soccer as well.
I used to take much more photos some years ago than now. I want to get back behind the camera soon!!! Gonna find the time for it.
I recently got interested in gender and women studies. Now I am a volunteer in a foundation called "niñas sin miedo" (girls without fear). There we taught little girls about body empowerment, in order to prevent sexual violence and teenage pregnancy. It is the most gratifying thing I have ever done. I also make part of a group against sexual harassment inside universities. I started doing it, due to my own experiences.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
My favorites music bands are Manu Chao and Fito Páez.
I like Colombian music. If you want to, look for "Herencia de Timbiqui", "Totó la Momposina" and "La 33".
Movies: Hard to summarize. I love Hayao Miyazaki and Wes Anderson, but there are so many others. Some of my favorite movies are To Kill a Mockingbird and The Apartment. I also like Juno and, I don't know why, I have a strange love for "Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona".
TV Shows: Huge fan of Friends. Breaking Bad (I am one of the few people who empathize with Skyler). I really like Avatar.
Books: I am fond of "The Stranger" and "The Catcher in the Rye" because they were the first books I read in French and English, respectively. When I read it, I loved "Ma Vie" by Isadora Duncan (one of my favorite dancers). I also like most of "Latin American magical realism" and... a lot of others.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Amazing is a huge word... but I have had the chance to do many exciting things! :) 2 that came up to my mind:
1. Once I was trying to hitchhike with 4 other people from Valizas to Punta del Diablo (Uruguay). Four different people picked us up. We did the whole way there and back in record time without splitting up. Again, WE WERE 5 PEOPLE!!!
2. I went to the anarchist neighborhood in Athens when Greece was in economic depression. I spent like 4 hours drinking beer with strangers who told me about their life there.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I can teach Spanish, juggling tricks and how to dance salsa.
I want to learn how to cook whatever you want to show me.
I always share stories and smiles!!!
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
I know how to juggle and I love to teach it! I also LOVE to share info about Colombian history and politics :)
Almost every time I am traveling abroad, I carry "arepa's flour" with me. That way I can share a Colombian typical food with hosts and friends... so, if we have the chance of cooking together, you are probably going to know how Colombian's arepas taste like.
