About Me
Hi!
I'd like to think I'm an easy-going person, who smiles a lot, and enjoys being around interesting people (which means quite a lot of people!). My parents are mixed (mum 1/2 Indian 1/2 French, dad 1/2 Japanese 1/2 American) and so I've a taste for different cultures and learning about different ways of living/seeing the world.
I just finished teaching humanities and ecology in an international boarding school out in the English countryside. On a long adventure now :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on a sabbatical once again :) and would like to meet nice people to share good times with!
Interests
My interests are as varied as my nationalities haha.
Right now, the main ones are education (teaching/learning) and philosophy (mostly in the sense of personal inquiry).
I love reading, writing, photography, playing music with people and learning new things about the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite music.. Jazz, blues, classical, deep house, bob marley etc.. Miles Davis probably tops the list.
Films.. foreign-language films (Le Grand Bleu, Aamir Khan films..) and quirky ones (I love Huckabees, The Science of Sleep). Kubric, Herzog, Wenders, Forman...
Books.. lots of them! My favourite novels are from Dostoevsky & Tolstoy, J. Conrad, DHL, Life of Pi and short stories by Kafka, Kundera, Murukami and Sweig. Non-fiction - A. Sen's 'Identity and Violence', S. Pinker's 'Better Angels of our Nature', A. Koestler's 'The Sleepwalkers' and Christopher Clark's book by the same name on the origins of WWI.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I walked the Camino de Santiago from France two summers ago. I hope to walk it again some day, too, it was a fantastic experience and wish everyone to do it one day :)
Teach, Learn, Share
That's what life is about!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My humour ;)
Music - if you have any musical instruments, we can always improvise something!
Perhaps the best thing I can share is some interesting conversation.. I like to think I'm open-minded and 'well read' so hopefully we can talk about lots of different things..
Perhaps a little cooking too - not that I remember many recipes, but I am happy to cook for you!
