About Me

My name is Miklós Balatincz. I'm a yoga, massage and movement therapist, an anatomy, a yoga and a breathwork teacher from Hungary.

I've got my certifications from India (yoga teacher, ayurveda therapist, yoga therapist) and from Hungary (yoga teacher, yoga therapist, breathwork instructor). I've also studied history and philosophy in the University of Pécs. But with all of these, my studies didn't finish at all. I'm constantly learning new therapeutic modalities to improve my 'toolbox'.

Primarely, I work with private clients in one-on-one sessions (in person and online). I was working with people from various countries (Hungary, India, Australia, USA, Spain, Portugal, Jordan, Iran etc.). Secondary, I teach movement therapy based public yoga classes, in Pécs and (soon) in Budapest. I also teach yoga anatomy for yoga teachers, for future yoga teachers in teacher trainings and in workshops for everyone who is interested in the topic. I also publish articles in the topic (BLOG). Recently, I teach yoga anatomy in Hungary, but I used to teach in India, Rishikesh.

My approach is based on the holistic anatomical view (tensegrity, the system of fascia which interconnects all muscles) of the human body and the nervous system (motor control theory, muscle compensation paterns etc.). My work is primareIy based on clinical evidence and secondary on studies supporting the practice.

I work through manual muscle testing, posture and gait analysis (and listening to the clients, of course) to figure out the overworking and the underworking muscle patterns in the nervous system. After my client and I have a concept of the problem, I use hands on massage therapy to release the overworking muscles and to create balance in the connective tissues. I use movement therapy to activate the underworking ones (and the combination of both techniques) and teach the 'new', more balanced, painfree ways of moving the body trough space.

I also work with the realignment of the breathing patterns, which can increase positional awareness and decrease muscle tension in the muscular system and decrease anxiety in the nervous system. Relearning the functional breathing patterns is game-changing.

I'm an educator, so my most important goal with my clients is to help them to understand their issues and become independent from the therapist (me). Therefore I teach them three things:

1. How to decrease the symptoms with self massage and movement therapy.

2. What is the deeper relationship between their muscular pain and muscular, fascial, neural etc. systems, so what is the functional cause of their issue.

3. With this knowledge, how to solve the cause not only the symptoms of their issue, and how to maintain what we achived in the client-therapist relationship.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book is The Red Lion by a hungarian writer Mária Szepes, and my favorite movie is The Salt of the Earth, a documentary about the life of Sebastião Salgado.

And music, hmmm... My taste is really polyhistor like. ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For me, an amazing thing isn't something you've done, rather that you can constantly do. For me, exploring my true self and working to reach a less borderd extent every day, in every possible way, in- and outside of my practice is amazing. It's an amazing gift, and an amazing opportunity.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share with you everything what you can see above, in 'Interests' and the things in 'My Home/What I Can Share With Guests', and I am open to learn everything which helps me to extend and grow through my limits, or simply learn from your life experiences. And of course I can show the most interersting and non-stereotypical places in Pécs and nearby reached by bike, bus or on foot (hike). I explored a lot in my country, so don't worry, you can visit the most exciting places with me. ;-) But I can only host you for 2 nights maximum.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook really delicious foods from every part of the world and I can teach you yoga, movement and how to fix your body, guide you trough relaxation and meditation or just show, how to be in the flow and also help in a lot of technicality, whatever you want. Basically I can share and teach a lot of stuff about movements, body-mind and the fun and freedom, what you can experience through them.
