About Me

Hi, my name is Ádám, a hungarian architect living and working in Stockholm.
I'm really bad at self marketing, but I'll try...I'm open minded, easy-going and I love meeting new people and cultures very much. In 2015 i spent six amazing months in Lisbon as an Erasmus+ exchange student and I loved each and every second of it. I travelled as much as I could and couchsurfing at kind people immensely improved the experience. Meeting complete strangers, talking to them, learning about their lives really broadens your perspective.
After my Erasmus I joined a student organization in my university so I was in a team helping Erasmus and full-time students arriving to Pécs. This also had a big impact on me, I met people from all over the world and learnt so much about their background and their culture. I am forever grateful for that experience.
In 2017 I moved to Stockholm to work here, and while it's definitely a tough journey to start from scratch in a foreign country, I really enjoy living the adult life and trying to have the Nordic experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

That's the best way to meet those who really live and know a town and not just see the touristic part of places. I also loved to help out visitors or exchange students who wanted to get to know Pécs, this small but amazing town in Hungary where I spent my student years.
It's been more than a year since I moved to Stockholm but I am still in the stage of learning the city. I would love to meet up locals, make new friends with them and also, meeting up travellers and helping them discover the city...while discovering new places myself.
Unfortunately i cannot host anyone currently but I am glad to be your sight-seeing companion/tourist guide.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music? I know it's lame, and the most generic answer ever, but I really am open to all kind of music. Pretty bad with classical music though...but i also like that too.
Books? Vonnegut. Anything that's Vonnegut.
Films? Wow I really can't think of a favourite film now, it's more or less the same situation as with music.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning languages, and I am planning to learn Swedish so I am always up for an impromptu Swedish lesson. In return I can offer to teach Hungarian, which is not the most useful language ever, but can be fun to speak.

What I Can Share with Hosts

1. My company. I think spending some time together, going out for a drink or just hanging out in the streets is a great way to get to know each other and the city where I'm staying.

2. My culinary skills. I really love cooking even though I'm not a skilled cook or anything....but I'm always up for some common dinner-making :) And of course, bringing a bottle of wine or some beers to anyone who is kind enough to host me.
