About Me

Hello world! We are Pistachio, an Oakland based rock n roll trio traveling far and wide to play music and see what the world has to offer a band on the run.

On guitar we have Antony D'Avirro, writer, poet, lover, leaver, resident band genius. good at everything. On bass, Devin Hollister, biologist, lover of nature, substitute teacher, one of the best human beings you'll ever meet. On drums, Zach Briefer, master of the dry joke, obsessive planner, 6-foot tall and ready for anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

More than just a band, we are three wander-lust stricken individuals, hoping to use our love of music to meet new people and see new places. We hope that couchsurfing will play a major role in this as we set off on the road.

Interests

As a band, we all enjoy sailing, two of us having spent months aboard sailboats as part of long distance sailing expeditions. We also like nature and the outdoors, traveling, coffee, and a nice beer. Pistachio is also interested in academic subjects such as linguistics, biology, and anthropology.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We are happy to share the wonderful gift of music with everyone and everybody who would like to listen! If we are traveling as a group, we certainly will have our instruments in tow and are happy to jam, perform, or give lessons to our hosts.
