Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The following question once occurred to me:
Why does one meet so many people when travelling and so few in their daily life?
Hence the couch in my second bedroom is now welcoming travelers, and I'll also be happy to meet up.

Interests

Meet with friends and have a drink. (Yes, I believe this is an interest per se and it does take quite some time.)
Dance, particularly on live music. I hate two-person dance, though.
Biking.
Hiking.
Reading.
