Overview
About Me
Hello! I'm Rubén. I'm 26 years old and I work as a brand consultant / art director. I'm interested in books (sci-fi, historical and documentaries), technology (gadgets, trends and innovation), art (fine arts, painting and museums), and almost any type of music, but especially most kinds of metal, jazz, hip hop and some electro (like diplo, die antwoord & major lazer). I also like to play the guitar (have been playing since I was 13!) and love to meet new interesting people.
As a side note, I consider myself a really clean & neat person, and I always appreciate politeness and good manners as well.
I recently developed a heavy interest in traveling and knowing the world I live in, and would love to meet people all around the world! I've already traveled to some places like Mexico (various cities & states), Panama, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
While I've visited a few countries in the past, I must say I've lived the most part of my life in the same place (Guadalajara, Mexico), so traveling the world in a regular basis is a whole new experience for me and I'm really excited about it!
I'm not interested at all in having a "YOLO" lifestyle while visiting other countries, if you know what I mean. No drugs and no smoking for me, but I'm okay with other people doing whatever they want, as long as they're conscious and respectful about other people's interests and values. Respect above all.
Finally, I'm a business owner (branding & design studio, two clothing brands, and 2 more design-related businesses), and entrepreneur, so I always try to be very organized and disciplined when it comes to neatness and order at the places I'm staying at, mainly because I know what it is to interact with people you barely know and what a respectful environment should be for everyone. I like working in things that I love, but don't worry, I try to enjoy the most wherever I go and try to keep the workaholic attitude as low as possible :)
On a general basis, I consider myself a really easy going, peaceful and nice person, and I really, really, really value respect and love above everything else.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The main reason I'm interest in couchsurfing is the whole experience it represents: meeting different people all around the world, making all kinds of friends, having respectful interactions with the people you meet, having to trust your hosts or the people that stays at your place, etc.
I'm really looking forward to try this, so I hope it goes well!
Thanks for reading!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My studio has received various design recognitions and our work has been published on a lot of design books all around the world. Besides that, the most amazing thing I've ever done is making myself surrounded by the most awesome friends anyone could ask for, and getting a nice worldwide recognition for the work I love doing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach a thing or two about design, branding and using software like Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Cinema 4D, etc. On a side note, I could also teach how to play the guitar and have some valuable knowledge on how to start businesses from scratch.
As for learning, I am always willing to learn some new languages, stuff and general skills. Whatever you'd like to teach me, I'm open for it!
Finally, as for the sharing part, I'm always trying to share what I know and how to do what I do.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I know some basic cooking, and could help you with any computer-related and design-related stuff. Besides that, I'm always trying to challenge myself to new things, so if you have anything I can help you with and I don't know how to do it, I will do my research and try my best at it. Don't underestimate me ;)
