Hi! I'm Lenka and I'm 29 years old. I live in Svidnik, which is a little town in the North- East Slovakia. I've been working in a pharmacy in Svidnik for 5 years now. I'd like to move somewhere new, but before I do so, I decided to make my dreams come true and go to visit the US for a few weeks.
I love my family, friends, optimistic, happy and cheerful people; I enjoy cooking, baking, I'm almost crazy about collecting every possible recipe :-); I also like being in nature, walking, hiking, biking, playing bedminton and watching ice-hockey. And meeting my dear friends every week for our Spanish lesson. I love that!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about Couchsurfing pretty much recently, thanks to an American Fulbright teacher who came to teach English to my hometown Svidnik. His and his friends' traveler stories were so amazing and inspiring, that I decided to sign up to CS, too. I hope to meet other inspiring and interesting people in my life via CS, because I'm convinced that such meetings aren't a coincidence. Moreover, opening your eyes and knowing people you otherwise would not probably meet opens a new world for you and sends you to a next level of your life. Moving forward, learning and finding inspiration. That's why I want to be on CS. And hopefully I could be inspirational for someone, too.

I like some of our Slovak or Czech singers, respectively, e.g. Jaromir Nohavica, Richard Muller, Elan, Katka Knechtova, IMT Smile. Foreign: Norah Jones, Bryan Adams, Phil Collins; Eros Ramazzoti. And I enjoy listening and dancing to latino music and, thanks to my piano), I like classical music, too.
Movies - I like comedies, mostly romantic comedies, movies that make me feel relaxed when I watch them. Something borrowed, Life as we know it and other very similar stuff. I've recently seen Grandhotel Budapest and I liked it too.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach Slovak in case somebody's interested :-) And also a bit of Spanish, piano and guitar and share some baking tips. I can also share my experience in hiking/ walking around Svidnik or Presov region and recommend places worth visiting. I can also be a part of some of those trips.
I'd love to learn more about Spanish -language, culture, food. And I want to learn some French and Italian, too. Also, to create something with my own hands. And dance salsa!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live in Svidnik, which is a little town, but the nature around is stunning. I could be a guide through some important post WW2 memorials we have here, a hiking partner on the hills near Svidnik and I could cook some Slovak traditional meals, like bryndzove halušky, pirohy and lokše. Moreover, Svidnik is close to Polish border, which can also enrich your stay here.
