About Me

I am always searching for meaning and beauty in the world, in people and in the things we create, and I try to keep mindful of the wonder that is our very existence in the universe. I am easygoing and generally calm; I can be a little quiet sometimes, but I'm working to overcome that :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I want to make the small contribution of welcoming people into my house and city, and establishing meaningful connections with my fellow humans :)

Interests

I am a passionate student of art history, and a passionate informal reader of literature, philosophy and all things cultural. I specially love to debate these topics!
I also appreciate nature very much, though I am not always able to be immersed in it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the cultural products of many times and places, but in having to pick just one, I'd say I specially love the literature, poetry and music of romanticism, with its sense of awe and intensity...
But I also like the down-to-earthness of folk music and modern literature!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most challenging thing I've ever done was to go through a ten-day vipassana meditation course, sitting ten hours a day with my own restless mind. Quite an experience!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am not yet a very experienced couchsurfer user, but my boyfriend Thiago is, and I helped him greet many couchsurfers at his home :)

If I have a free morning or afternoon (I work as a freelancer editor so that's a little unpredictable), I can show you some special places in the town; in the evening, we can cook something or go out for a beer. And I can always provide tips if you want to explore on your own, or help if needed.
