I was born in a microscopic village in Catalonia, of about 150 inhabitants, and I lived my childhood surrounded by forests and countryside. At 17 I left my town to go to study at the University, and I began to discover how exciting it is to travel at that age. After several short trips through Europe and Africa, I decided to start a route through Latin America when I finished my studies. After two years traveling that continent, I felt that the person I was had nothing to do with the girl who left home. It was a very versatile trip, where I combined the study with the rituals in the jungle, the volunteer work and the habitance in ecovillages and communities of religions that I didn't know before. My drift continued through Palestinian and Greek refugee camps, led more by the anger and the desire to contribute to making the life of these punished spaces more livable, and ended with a short trip through the Balkans, which helped me to understand a little more the history of the region.
A lot of people hosted me during all these trips, and now that I have the opportunity to do so, I feel like giving something back to the world and continuing the chain of favors.

Nací en un pueblo microscópico del interior de Catalunya, de unos 150 habitantes, y viví mi infancia rodeada de bosques y campo. A los 17 salí de mi pueblo para ir a estudiar a la Universidad, y empecé a descubrir lo apasionante que es viajar a esa edad. Después de varios viajes de corta duración por Europa y África, decidí empezar una ruta por América Latina al terminar mis estudios. Después de dos años viajando por ese continente, sentí que la persona que era no tenía nada que ver que la chica que salió de casa. Fue un viaje muy polifacético, donde combiné el estudio con los rituales de la selva, con los voluntariados y la convivencia en ecoaldeas y comunidades de religiones que desconocía. Mi deriva siguió por campos de refugiados palestinos y griegos, liderada más por el enfado y las ganas de contribuir a hacer más vivible la vida de estos castigados espacios, y culminó con un corto viaje por los Balcanes, que me ayudó a entender un poco más la historia de la región. Durante todos estos viajes me hospedaron una muchísimas personas, y ahora que tengo la oportunidad de hacerlo yo me apetece devolverle un poco al mundo y continuar la cadena de favores.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am in CouchSurfing because i think that hitchhiking and spending nights with locals is a good way to interact with people who is part of a certain place and know about its particularities, and to deepen a bit more in the culture and the idiosyncrasy of every piece of earth.

Estoy en couchsurfing porqué viajar a dedo y pasar las noches con personas locales me parece una buena manera de poder interactuar con personas que conozcan bien el lugar y sus particuaridades, y de profundizar un poco más en la cultura y la idiosincrasia de cada pedazo de tierra.

In general I write a lot, I like to read, to watch movies, listen to music (original, right?), And I swim, ride a bike and climb mountains whenever I have the opportunity

I like to wake up with jazz, go to rock and catalan rock concerts and listen to singer-songwriters and acoustic music before going to sleep

In general, I prefer films that leave me with a feeling of estrangement, such as those of Lars von Trier, Alex de la Iglesia, and some others like The Wall, Donnie Darko, Into the Wild, I'm Not There, etc.

Regarding the books, some authors that marked me were Hermann Hesse, Cortázar, Saint-Exupery, Borges, Poe, Carlos Castaneda, Nicanor Parra, Dostoievsky, Rilke, Homer, Laura Gallego and Jack Kerouak
