About Me

I come from a very peculiar multicultural family, where France meets Venezuela (and a lot more countries).
I am a very curious girl who gets extremely excited at the thought of meeting foreigners, of discovering their cultures, their languages, their personal outlook on life. I am always looking for opportunities to learn new stuff and improve my understanding of various topics such as (geo)politics, art, social and economic issues.
I am talkative and very easy-going but also enjoy some alone time to meditate, read or binge watch on Netflix (oopsy).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a newbie in the Couchsurfing world, I have never hosted anyone but would love to open my home to a fellow traveller when I'll move to a bigger place.
In the meantime, I hope to be blessed with amazing, fun and nourishing conversations and walks with every kind and interesting couchsurfer who will want to meet up with me :)
Don't hesitate to message me !!

Interests

Well, this is not a surprise, travelling and mastering new languages...
I have a soft spot for the Mediterranean sea, for marine wildlife and its complex ecosystem. I also really enjoy hiking, gardening and simply being surrounded by nature. What else is more important than that?? Honestly...
I have always be a genuine human voice lover, in every style and genre. To be honest, I can't stop singing every minute of every day to the great displeasure of my roomates ^^ However, I still have a long way to go before being any good. Who cares, anyway?
I also enjoy learning about interior design, architecture, real estate, remodelling... You know, mood boards, color palet and other fun DIYs...

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite music: Talking about classical music, I love deeply le Quattro stagioni di Vivaldi, Schubert and Mozart. I adore most of Donizetti's operas (Lucia di Lammermoor and Anna Bolena are my two all-time) as well as Rossini's (the openings are fantastics) and Puccini's. I am fond of latin music such as the Cuban band Compay Segundo or the wonderful Quinteto contrapunto from Venezuela. I adore eastern-european Jewish and tzigane music (Pal Rakozi and Yoska Nemeth's violin performances are a delight). As to more contemporary music, I can't stop playing Aaron, Radiohead, Eagles, Bonnie Tayler, Adele, Muse, but Elvis Presley holds a special place in my heart. There is so much more to that... We should talk about it :)

Favorite movies: every Hitchcock's movie (but Notorious and Vertigo are amazing), On the Waterfront because Marlon Brando is incredible, Almodovar's movies for it's colors, it's freeing creativity, Skyfall for its remarkable esthetics, Crazy Stupid Love (in fact, anything with Ryan Gosling, I know I am biased^^), etc. etc... I am also a great fan of some awesome TV shows : Sense8 is mindblowing (I can't wait for the next season to be released), I love Friends to pieces and Six Feets Under was very moving.

Favorite books: Oh God, I could go and go until tomorrow... Harry Potter was, is and will always be my Bible, I have grown up with it, it's my true happy place! I love classic French literature, mainly novels and poetry : the virtuous Dangerous Liaisons by Laclos, Racine's tragedies, I adore Baudelaire poems (please check out Le Flambeau Vivant, it's beautiful) and the first Rimbaud. I am currently diving into foreign authors and have discovered this wonderful albanian writter Ismaïl Kadaré (Broken April), Amadou Kourouma from Senegal (Le Soleil des Indépendances, Allah n'était pas obligé). Always looking for new recommandations :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing the Vesuvio and admiring the gorgeous bay of Napoli.
Or taking the helicopter to fly over Manhattan, breathtaking...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some French slang, expressions and weird habits. I also can teach you how to make a good pabellon con arepas (a yummy venezualian traditional dish).
I would love to learn some of your traditional songs and dances as a way to incorporate more of the world into my day to day life. Might I add that I am desperatly trying to find some Albanian native speaker to help me learn this language.
I will share with you my time, my little (but always growing) knowledge of life, my very compassionate ear (I know how to listen, trust me !!), my shoulder to cry on, and my (often naive) optimism!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to show you my city around and help you during your time in Lyon/France. I can give you some cool advices on where to have a drink, a bite or a fun time. And will be glad to help you discover and or perfect your French ;)
