Sobre mí

I am a Swiss man who quit his job to travel the world.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I have been using Airbnb extensively, while travelling over the past few years. During one trip, I met a woman who introduced me to Couchsurfing. She travelled quite a lot and told me that she had such an incredible experience using it. It made me want to try.

Intereses

I like exercising (powerlifting, and I am trying to like running... but still not).

I used to train quite a lot of martial arts (Yoseikan-budo then MMA and Brazilian ju-jitsu) but stopped about two years ago for cause of injuries (might go back to it soon).

I like hiking and camping (hiked in Nepal, France, Norway, Sweden, the UK, Japan, New Zealand, Myanmar, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Greece, Jordan and looking forward to more).

Música, películas y libros

I have a pretty eclectic taste in music but enjoy mainly rock/metal music, this days (Rammstein, SOAD, Sepultura, Rage against The Machine, ...).

Book wise... On top of my head I can think of : the Discworld serie, Good Omens, Gates of Fire and Murakami.

Algo increíble que he hecho

See the moustache in the picture? It's a real one. I grew it for Movember 2014 (OK, I cheated and started growing it a few months before... hiding it in a beard...).

Sadly, it's gone now :( .

I also travel alone quite a lot. I quit my job and started travelling since November 2016, mainly in Asia (Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Nepal, China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Greece, Jordan, Iran, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Taiwan, Indonesia and now Japan).

I stopped in Kathmandu for almost 3 months teaching English and computers to students and their teachers, while learning Nepali.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I am currently learning basic card flushing movement and magic tricks (could teach a you a few simple things).

I speak fluent French and English, have a small basic of German and Japanese. For the past few months I have been learning local alphabets and language. I learned a bit of Russian, Turkish, Arabic, Persian, Sinhalese, Tagalog, Mandarin and Nepalese.

I used to work in computer science and can help you learn programming and computer science basics, artificial intelligence, and other related subjects.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

An open mind and curious ears, good travel stories, anything they could teach me.
