About Me

I’m recently divorced after 16 years, and I have no kids.
Adopted a street dog, and she adopted me. Guess she helped me much more than I did helped her.
I worked as a lawyer for more than 15 years, and now I work pro bono at an NGO. I also work pro bono as a teacher at the public Law School. I do have some income from a family business and am just starting a new proyect. That allows me to live a low cost life and to travel the world, which I just have started doing and I love!

My dream is to help as many people as I can, and to do it as much as I can, and I believe that the more you are yourself, the more you have to be shared.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m going couchsurfing not only because I’m short in money, but mainly because it is a great way to meet new people and to be in close contact with the new culture you’re visiting. Traveling through Europe being short of money this last years (went to Spain, Italy, France and Belgium) has shown me the greatness of people and places that otherwise I guess I might have missed. Didn`t join couchsurfing before, but did shared apartments in Spain and France with people that where recommended to me and we contacted online ahead of my arrival. The experience was great.
Couchsurfing will be a new experience for me, but I know there’s everything to gain and nothing to loose when you are a good and ethical person as I like to think I am.

Interests

I love reading, playing with my dog, hanging with my friends and family (we are 7 brothers and sisters -me being the older one- and 10 nephews and nieces), walking, biking, listening to music, meditating, yoga.
Meeting new people from different cultures, and to have the opportunity of practicing other languages.
I think every experience is enriching, and that’s the way I always try to live them.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music? Everything from the 70`s and 80`s for shure. African. Mantras.
Not much into movies, but love a good one once in a while, Outo of Africa, Children of a Lesser Good, The fight club, Matrix (the first one), The empire of the sun, The pillow book, Breaking the Waves, The dreamers... and of course, the silly romantic ones that still make me cry; and any superation story.
uff books! I loved Tolstoy and Dostoievsky when I was a teen ager, Isabel Allende, García Marquez, Vargas LLosa, Saramago, Perez Reverte, Ewan Mc Gregor, Khaled Hosseini, and some rehersals, and those light novels you reed on a rainy weekend or on a flight.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing? nope.
Sure love to have done something amazing, but I`ve spent many years dedicated to my "husband" and our law firm.

What I Can Share with Hosts

All I have to offer is my bright talk and my smile, but those are not bad at all.
Though I`m not much of a house person can help whith the kitchen, the house or the groceries store
