About Me

Originally from Lima, Peru, I moved to Vancouver, Canada to study three years ago. Currently doing an exchange in Paris! (and loving it here!)

I like to explore new places and getting lost. I enjoy meeting new people and exchanging stories. I am a good listener. I enjoy good conversations over coffee or a beer (or wine).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm new to CouchSurfing!
This being my first time in Europe, I'm fascinated by how easy it is to go from one country to another, and I am definitely trying to take advantage of that!
I have hosted and have crashed at friends' places while travelling here, but I have never had an experience through this site. I like the idea of CS, to connect with people, to exchange experiences, while saving some money! So I'm looking forward to seeing what it is all about.

Interests

As probably everybody here, I love travelling! But other than that, I enjoy watching films, listening to music, and taking photos. I always enjoy art-related activities.
I also love dancing! I have been a bit obsessed with Salsa dancing lately (and also Bachata and Kizomba). I have done some urban dance in the past (hip hop, jazz) and I've recently tried West Coast Swing too and liked it pretty much.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't think I have favourites, but between my tops films I have probably "Children of Men" by Alfonso Cuaron, most Christopher Nolan films (Inception, Memento, the Batman ones), and old Woody Allen movies.
I listen to pretty diverse music, some of my favourite bands are probably the Arctic Monkeys, The Smiths, Voxtrot. But I also listen to quite some latin music, specially Bachata and Cumbia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to Canada to live by myself when I was 18. I didn't have any family or acquaintances there, just a college acceptance letter. When I think back on that, how it all came to be, I think it's pretty amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can actually Salsa dance! I sporadically teach Salsa lessons for a non-profit organization at my school. So if you were down, I could definitely (and would be glad to) teach you some moves! I do some Bachata too.
If you were interested, I would also be glad to teach you some Spanish.

I would be interested in listening about what you have to say about this city I'm visiting, the perspectives of locals are always the most enriching. Whatever you would be kind to teach me about your culture I would be glad to learn: some words, a traditional dish, a traditional dance!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My experiences, my culture, my heritage, the languages I speak, the things I have been through, some Salsa moves!
