Overview
About Me
Child of the desert, I have traveled through India, Nepal, Indonesia & Japan. I now reside in Yucca Mesa which is SMACK between Yucca Valley & Joshua Tree: home of the Joshua Tree National Park... (which is not to be missed!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since I live in a one-room cabin & have no room for guests, I have put together a guest room within a shipping container (i.e. "The Bird Nest.") Winters here can be COLD & summers HOT... but BirdNest is insulated, which helps neverthelss. Driveway leading uphill to the Bird Nest is recommended to be driven UP backwards so as to be able to go back DOWN again forward—not enough space for turning a car around at the top. (Energetic travelers who are willing to help me keep up the BirdNest, may be invited to stay a few days longer!)
Interests
Mostly, the DESERT(s) - what they support & whom they call.
- spas
- hiking
Music, Movies, and Books
Indonesian Gamelan (but we have MANY local musicians & artists who are regularly active in providing local entertainment.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
BREATHING... which I am still doing!!!
Teach, Learn, Share
Since I have lived in this particular area for 10 years already, I know something about what is locally available & Palm Springs is less than an hour away! There are spas, restaurants & hiking trails - electric bicycles can be rented or you can enjoy the mostly desert scenery right from the "BirdNest" or a hammock outside!
What I Can Share with Hosts
