From the Midwest originally and have been in New York just over 11 years now. I am passionate about social justice, travel, learning, being active and meeting new people. I value community and relationships most. I am mostly vegetarian (sometimes eat fish) but not aggressive about it. I try to be ecologically conscious.

As far as couch surfing, I am a very polite house guest and do my part to not create any hassles or messes for my host to clean up. I am also very respectful of noise.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people and want to see as much of the world as possible, so couch surfing makes sense. I am also very easy going and live very simply. I would much prefer to stay with a local person and sleep on a couch than stay alone in a fancy hotel.

Interests

I studied political science, so history, politics and economics all interest me. On the other side of the coin I am well known for my fondness of silly Youtube videos. I absolutely adore animals and nature. I am into physical activity, whether that is going for a jog or to the gym. I can never get enough documentaries or investigative reports. I often find myself drawn to people who are somewhat different than me but hold similar values. I like seeing the world through other people's eyes.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most types of music and I think it is a reason to live. I enjoy live bands, pop, hip hop, blue grass, classical, country... I won't list particular movies or books but I am a fan of comedies, dark humor, comedies that are so cheesy they are awful, historical narratives, biographies and exposes. I am not a science fiction fan but won't judge you if you are!

I am working on learning modern Hebrew with the goal of gaining fluency. I have also studied French and would like to improve it as well as learn Spanish and Arabic.
