About Me

Hello! I'm David and I'm a 26 year old dreamer of worlds. I was born in Lisbon and lived there for a few years before my parents moved somewhere more quiet and peaceful, our now present home, Quinta da Gloria in Palmela. I've always dreamed of travelling and right now I've been awarded this wonderful gift of being able to do so and share the world of others and my own. Hard work and long hours gave way to this fantastic opportunity of travelling. I am first starting with south america because I can get away with spanish but I am hopeful that I'll broaden my horizons to other beautiful places in the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Being new to travelling I was not aware of all the possibilities that existed to make it a bit more affordable but also more invested in meeting people from the countries that we are visiting and have a chance of sharing experiences. Stories with local men and women who have had a whole life that are full of meaning and history.

Interests

I like music, films and books. I am also very interested in video game designing and coding. I love playing the guitar and sharing musical moments.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have many favourite musicians but no specific type of music interests me most, I enjoy good music of any type. My favourite movie is Blade Runner. I have many favourite books but the few that stand out are Cien Anos de Soledad, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Rum Diaries, 1984 and One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Helped build a house from hay and mud, the sustainable way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn about my host, his\her life , passions and dreams. To learn what surrounds me in the place I'm being hosted, its history and people. What I can teach is very basic, a magic trick here, a new way of throwing a frisbee there, maybe a song on the guitar, maybe a new way of cooking rice, plus if needed of course my own language of Portuguese or my second adopted language of English, any of the two I am very comfortable in teaching.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories and food, laughs and cries, secret recipes and good wine, anything that can bring cultures together.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Brazil, Chile, France, Italy, Spain, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In

England, Portugal
