About Me

Well hello, world. :) I'm a twenty-something seeker, currently enjoying the delights of a student life - after all, it's one hell of a ride! Sometimes a leisurely Ferris wheel, sometimes a crazy haunted house, but mostly, a Wonderland. And boy, do I love to explore it and wonder. In fact, I'm convinced that a part of me will remain being a student eternally, as I cherish the curiosity and enthusiasm that come with it. They make my life more colourful and well... I've never been one for black-and-white thinking anyway.

I have a deep passion for the human mind, hence my Psychology degree. What makes people unique, what drives them forward, what holds them back, questions that challenge me and keep my interest. Psychology is pretty much everywhere you look, in the objects of everyday use, in the culture that we build, in the news from around the world.

I like to keep myself busy with activities and projects regarding both work and free time, so my schedule is usually quite rich and very open to experience exchange with new people - you, guys. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

No travel guide can compare to a first-hand experience you gain when interacting with people from around the world. Why just read about amazing cultures when you can hear the stories for yourself, see them with your own eyes? Seems like a no brainer to me. I am very inspired by the partnership I sense here at Couchsurfing, making friends from all around the world. For me, this means essentially making the world your home, and that's much better than just visiting it.

At the moment, I'd love to meet up with couchsurfers who come to Prague, show you guys some of my favourite places - what not to miss, where the awesome picnic sites are or where you can get a great beer. :)
I'd also love to visit some of you when I travel from Prague.

Interests

I've always struggled with enjoying way too many hobbies and having just 24 hours a day. But I love it the way it is, so here is a sneak peek of my cocktail of interests:

- I enjoy different forms of art, both actively and passively. In the active form, they help me clear my mind, express and challenge myself.
* I love drawing, mostly just with a pencil, and learning to actually and properly see the world - which is what fine art can do for you, I believe.
* I also enjoy creative writing, playing with words, expressions, seeing the effect they make when put together in the right way. I write drabble pieces, articles, movie and book reviews.
* photography
* Photoshop - graphics basics

- I'm a huge bookworm, always have been, always be one, I'm afraid. :) Movies and TV shows are also a must, but more of that below.
- Sports - yoga, pilates, volleyball, beach volleyball, running, horse riding

And some other ones: my little dog monster called Nessie, healthy lifestyle, meditation, movies & TV shows, animal welfare, blog reading

Music, Movies, and Books

As for books, some of my personal favourites include: Harry Potter saga, Lord of the Rings, Human Traces, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Flowers for Algernon, Shadow of the Wind, ...

As for TV Shows, I really enjoy: Game of Thrones, Sherlock, TBBT, Suits, Humans, House of Cards, Penny Dreadful, Gilmore Girls, Face Off...

And movies and music - well, I'm really an omnivore in those fields, so attempting to list my favourites or my preferences would be pointless. I keep an open mind and if it looks or sounds appealing, I will give it a try.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I visited Hogwarts, swam with dolphins, saved seals, planted trees... And one day, I hope all these amazing fantasies will actually come true and I'll be able to tell you guys about it. :))

Though if I have to pick something up-to-date - I took a one day trip to Slovakia, climbed the Krivan mountain (which is often rated as the most beautiful Slovakian peak - I confirm!) with no sleep, then made it back and felt like a zombie. But a pretty happy one, to be fair. :)

And living in England for three years was pretty awesome too! I miss it dearly and I'm actually thinking about moving back in the upcoming two years or so.

I can't wait for what's to come!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a language lover, so I can teach you some Czech phrases (and I solemnly swear I won't make fun of you and teach you fake ones! :)) and I'm curious about your languages as well. I can also share a lot about Czech culture and places to visit.

I'd love to teach you some Flower Stick tricks (a form of juggling manipulation) - takes about 10 mins with the right approach and you look like a pro!

And of course, the crucial skill - I can hoot like an owl! Never really figured out where to use this supernatural ability apart from scaring kids at summer camps, but I have a feeling the great wisdom should be passed on. :))

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some wonderful Czech meals, sense of humor and anything of the above, really.
