Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At first, I was more than appreciable to be hosted for free, so I started to actually use the site there 1 year, during my stay in Bangkok. I quickly realized that the free service is not the only advantage to this system. As a solo traveler I found reassuring the idea to benefit from advice and recommendations about the city or to discover places which guides do not speak. But not only:
1- Meet great people that look like you:
Since everyone fills his profile, it is easier to find the person that matches you the most for a good time. When I was in Bangkok, I could be hosted by a host as practicing Thai boxing. She took him in and the two clubs where she trains so I could also lead me to the Thai way. I was able to exercise myself with local and undergo.
2- Learn the best on the local culture:
A stay with local or expatriates living there for some time, you will learn more about how to live in a particular country or city. You will understand the history, culture or beliefs.
3- To benefit from good advice:
Because people know their city, they will tell you the good plans, but also the must places to avoid. Much better and more useful than any paper guide.
4. Progress in the local language:
Learn to say hello, thank you and goodbye in the local language, making progress in a language that is just beginning to learn or improve a language that is already talk, nothing better than the local!
5. Learn to cook new dishes:
If you come across hosts or couchsurfers loving cook, you learn new recipes will taste new dishes and you can share your recipes.
6- The price:
Couchsurfing is a person you are staying free thus allowing to travel more or longer. Even when we do forget that this is not the hotel either so we help, we exchange, we participate!
7- The host hosted or hosted hosting
Couchsurfing is a trading system, then do not hesitate to become a host once back (or before leaving), you will learn about the culture of that
