Overview
About Me
I am a tea-drinking, vegetarian-eating, poetry-loving, homemade-granola-making cat lady. Perhaps unsurprisingly based on that description, I happen to be a teacher of English and Yoga.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It is a wonderful platform for travelers through which I have met lovely people, both as a host and as a guest.
Interests
I am endlessly amused by bad puns, silly animal videos and fun facts about languages. I have recently discovered that I find jigsaw puzzles oddly and almost obsessively entertaining. I really love American Football, which many people seem to find out of character.

Music, Movies, and Books
Some of my favorite author include Margaret Atwood, Wajdi Mouawad, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Charles Bukowski, Amin Maalouf and Aldous Huxley.
I am currently reading David Graeber's history of debt and finding it absolutely fascinating.
Movies that I've found memorable or particularly enjoyable include Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Avengers, Her, All you can eat Buddha, La La Land...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I taught high school English for three years and not only survived but actually enjoyed it. Some of my former students follow me on Instagram. I think for that brief period of my life I came pretty close to being "cool".
I also gave a poignant rendition of the Shania Twain classic "That Don't Impress me Much" at a packed karaoke bar in New Orleans.
