Overview
About Me
I am a nineteen year old girl from Germany and I came to the USA after I finished highschool in Summer 2014 to live and work as an Au Pair for one year. This is a great experience, as I get the chance to travel around the world and discover as many parts of this amazing country as possible, plus I get to know the American culture and meet many interesting people on my journey. My friends describe me as an open-minded, optimistic and easy-going person.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am new to couchsurfing and decided to join, because it sounds like such an interesting and fun way to travel, when you get the chance to stay with locals and spend time with them. I just love the idea of meeting people from all over the world. Besides that, I prefer to experience a place like the people who live there do over just seeing the tourist sights.
Since I live in a hostfamily, I am not able to host at the moment, but I would like to return the favor once I get the chance when I am back in Germany.
Interests
I am interested in many kinds of sports and outdoor activities like volleyball, hiking, horseback riding and I practiced vaulting for more than 12 years. I always like to try new sports like kayaking, rock climbing or skiing.
I tried to learn to play the guitar more or less successfully, but I am very interested in listening to music and going to concerts and music festivals.

Music, Movies, and Books
Rock/ Alternative music has always been my favorite, but lately I became more open to other kinds of music as well. I am still struggling with most of the top 40 songs though. Some of my favorite artists are Biffy Clyro, Avenged Sevenfold, 30 Seconds to Mars, Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, Imagine Dragons, and Queen, of course.
My favorite movie of all time is "A Knight's Tale", but I watch almost every kind of movie, except for horror movies. Some of my other favorites include the "The Dark Knight" trilogy and The Avengers.
I loved the Harry Potter books as a kid and still do. Right now I just started to read Les Misérables by Victor Hugo.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I know it sounds cheesy and clichéd, but jumping out of an airplane was pretty much one of the most amazing things I've done.
Another amazing thing was participating in a student exchange with Mongolia. Besides the great experience of hosting a Mongolian girl in Germany and learning about her culture, I got the chance to travel through the beautiful countryside of Mongolia and meet nomads and learn about their nomadic way of life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to broaden my horizon and learn about different cultures by learning about other peoples' way to think and live. I can share the german culture and teach some of the language.
