About Me
A people's person! I'm really talkative, easy-going, a person that makes lots of jokes and very ironic, open-minded and curious about different languages, cultures and historical facts! I LOVE meeting new people, that's why I've been travelling alone for seven months 21 countries so far! It's been a challenge and quite a journey but I got to open myself to the world and there's no better reward than that :)
If you want you can read more about it in my travel blog that I just started👉🏻 http://www.farawayfrommycomfortzone.wordpress.com! (2016)
The more different the culture, the better. Every country and person makes me even more curious and instead of crossing things out of my bucket list I even want to do more! That's called wanderlust I guess :) so if you tell me that you're hosting lots of people in your apartment/house/tent or whatever for me it's the better! I can know even more people! I don't mind a lot about comfort, that's why the blog that I'm working on is called far away from my comfort zone!
I love photography and a few days and I just started a project where you can see the pictures of my travels👉🏻📸https://www.facebook.com/betseyph/ 👉🏻if you enjoyed the work you can like it!

I am a Communications graduate student who loves to travel, discover art, history and fashion. Loves to have a good time to chat, joke a lot listening to music and hanging out with friends and meeting new people! People say I am a great soul to have around and that I have good energy, I believe it's all about the attitude you have towards life and having good people around that like to share the same energy!
BEFORE HOSTING ME, YOU SHOULD READ THIS👇🏻
Due to previous unpleasant experiences, I see myself obliged to say this: I'M LOOKING FOR NEW FRIENDS IN COUCHSURFING, I just want that, this is not a hooking up website, or bedsurfing as you best prefer to call it.
I didn't say it before as I thought it was obvious for me and the purpose of all Couchsurfing, and I don't like what is it turning into lately. For me it is really for travelling as a local and doing things you locals do in your cities, getting to know your culture, and if you want to share sightseeing moments with me, or just leave me the keys if you don't have time for showing around and only have dinner together or some quality moments, that's just perfect. Whatever works for you! I'm a really easy-going, laid back and uncomplicated person. I can sleep on the couch, the floor, a 12 hours bus, a plane, a bus terminal or at an airport (I've already done it 7 times in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Mexico City, Shanghai, Singapore and Paris!). In this trip I even had tap water from almost any place you can imagine -of course that if it's a strange colour I won't, I don't wanna die soon!- so you see I have no problem with that, zero fussy.
I don't understand when guys just tell you you're pretty beforehand or when you're already at their place and tell you you have to share the same bed. That's why I think to save problems and awkward questions hosts should write and be clear about the sleeping arrangements, because it's a clear option to complete in your profile and saves us future issues.
I think doing that is just disrespectful and unfair and make us girls feel unsafe. I've been travelling alone around 7 months so far and those are really the worst moments that I've suffered through. So if you think Couchsurfing is sexsurfing to you and that's all, don't send me a request, as I am not looking for that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would love to experience the different cities that I travel with people that are local there, learn about different cultures and lifestyles. Do things that tourists don't usually know or do when they are in a city! That's what I love and look for in Couchsurfing, to learn and do things that are not in a typical tourism book, learn things that only locals can teach you: little tips, places, stories, customs, events, culture, whatever they can share is great and sums up for me!
Interests
I have just finished an internship in Communication at the Organization of American States (2015). I am currently working as a volunteer in Anne Frank House Argentina and the Holocaust Museum of Buenos Aires.
I also am a freelance writer and photographer in an online fashion magazine. In fashion I can see not only the clothes, but the style and the spirit of a person. It can say a lot about you: from the mood you are in that day, to the culture and interests that you have. I believe it's one way more of expressing yourself!
I enjoy simple pleasures in life, like a good cup of tea with an interesting conversation, a glass of wine, cheese and good music.
Sometimes little - and sometimes guilty- pleasures in life are just what you need to keep it interesting. Nice and long walks alone while listening to music, cleaning your bedroom or house while listening to loud 90s pop music. Eating cheese or chocolate and having wine, water or tea, while having a deep and interesting conversation, or why not all together at once?
I love walking around with music, trecking, running, going to the gym, specially Spinning classes which are a huge part of my week and endorphines! I go minimum 3 times a week, and if I can, more! When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you do good! :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I love John Mayer, Jack Johnson, The Strokes, and also the top tracks that are currently on Spotify. I love singing and going to karaokes, making a fool of myself! I also love jazz classics such as Donald Byrd, Nina Simone, Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra. I'm really open-minded about music and films, so if you wanna show me something new, PLEASE DO! That's part of this journey.
New findings (2017-2018): Chet Faker, Nicolas Jaar - lofi beats, house, bossa nova.
Favourite books and movies: Closer, Eyes wide shut, Beginners, Across the Universe, Amélie Poulain.
I also love psychological thrillers that can get you thinking a lot after finishing them: Requiem for a dream, Black Swan, Trainspotting, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind.
Love Stanley Kubrick for his thoughful films, Woody Allen for his ironic humour and Wes Anderson's aesthetics.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't know if it's amazing, but I traveled for eight months on my own without planning anything around South East Asia and Europe! Travelling as much as I can by bus and blabla car so if I like a city and its people I can stay longer and let the city absorb me as much time as feel to stay there! I just think that travelling alone is the best therapy, the best way to get to really know yourself and try yourself in different and limit situations that you've never been to before! Just leaving your comfort zone, I know it's difficult sometimes, but I promise the journey is amazing!
