Hello,
i am Philipp from germany. I live and study in Freiburg, where i live in a nice flat with my lovely flatmates. Right now spend an Erasmus semester on the beautiful island of Martinique in the caraibes to learn french, meet new people, explore this area of the world and experience the island life. I am a really social person and enjoy life the most when i am with my freinds on new adventures. I also love to be in the nature and do al kinds of outdoor activities. To do sports and to be with my friends makes me the most happy, as well as cooking and eating good food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a great way to build a worldwide community between travellers, share experiences and do each other a favor by offering a place to stay. I always feel very gratefull to have a place to sleep when i am travelling and i like to return the favor, because sharing is caring.

Interests

As i wrote above, i really love to do outdoor sports. Freeride Mountainbike is my main sport, i am really passionate about it. In winter skiing and snowboarding is a must do for me. When i moved to Freiburg i discovered bouldering got really into it, for a while. I do a lot to stay in shape for all this, like running, swimming, fitness, yoga and sometimes slackline. Meeting with friends is also very important to me. Mostly we spend evenings together with cooking and having an nice meal. Musik brings also a lot joy to me, eventhough I can't really play any intruments, I like to listen to our good selection of venyl records, go to partys or concerts.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of different kinds of music, but i grew up listening mostly to reaggae and dub. For partys i like techhouse and techno, but i also like going to stoner rock concerts. But thre is so much music out there to discover, that i dont want limit my taste to a few genres.
I like to read, but i dont have any favourite writers, mostly i get some recommendations from friends.
Some of my favourite movies are 2001: A Space Odyssey, Samsara(2011), Waking Life (2011), Pulp Fiction.
I also like most of the Movies from Tarantino, Christopher Nolan and Gaspar Noe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I hitchhiked to Grenoble last spring, it got really late, it was dark and it rained and no one wantet to take me, a young Men from france offered me to come to his place. That saved me from spending a cold night in the rain. I am very thankful for that and remided me, that it can be really easy to help people in bad situations.
