I'm a firm believer in Christopher McCandless' quote: "The core of man's spirit comes from new experiences." I'm always up for something exciting and keen to go out and have fun.

I made the decision a while ago to dedicate my entire 2015 year to traveling to some of the most culturally-rich and off the beaten track places across Latin America and Africa. I am an adventure seeker, but not necessary adrenalin-seeker. I am a freelance travel journalist and write for magazines in South Africa and China. My articles revolve around the central theme of transcending from one's comfort zone and immersing oneself in foreign local cultures that one encounters while traveling.

I live in on a horse farm and train show horses. Next year I will continue my studies, this time in sustainable development. I completed my Bachelors and Honours degrees in Innovation and Strategic Management.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that when one travels to a foreign place the most important part to experience is the local culture. If one stays in a hostel, one doesn't meet many local people, whereas Couchsurfing enables one to do so.

With regards to my home country, I am a proud citizen and as such I'm able and willing to show you the best spots! I have traveled far and wide in South Africa; to the famous and popular places as well as to completely off-the-gridd places. I know a lot about my country and thus I can basically be your tour guide :)
