About Me

My name is Federico, I'm (see above) years old, and currently I am finishing my studies in Mechanical Engineering, and working both as a project engineer, and part-time as a physics "auxiliary teacher" at my uni.
I consider myself a nice, kind person, who's respectful and always try to empathize with others. I am usually in a good mood, smiling (I love silly jokes and puns!), and I always have time to say "Good morning, how are you today?".
I like meeting new people, and even though I think I feel more comfortable in small groups, I don't consider myself an introvert. I'm always up for a good conversation, and I tend to talk a lot because I love to share my point of view, as well as to listen to others'. Overall, I feel like I have a wide range of interests and I'm very curious, so we will probably find something to talk about :)

I believe that the most important gift we have is freedom and I embrace it.

And of course, I LOVE to travel!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I want to learn, to share, to be more connected with destinations, and their people. I love sharing thoughts, experiences with others and learning from all kind of points of views and ways of living.
I am used to doing all kinds of things alone, because I am not the kind of guy who stops doing something he likes just because he doesn't have anyone to do it with; but sometimes, after a long sightseeing day, it would have been nice to have someone to have a beer with, talk about what I liked the most, and what I didn't.
Also, I always enjoyed showing my city and the places I like to others, and as I did that I thought how much fun and interesting it would be if somebody does the same for me while I'm abroad. I could learn a lot, have tons of fun and even make new friends :)

Interests

I consider myself a person with wide interests and hobbies.
For example I really like everything related to films, not only watching movies but also learning everything involved in making them, and photography. I like reading books, and comic books; I LOVE listening to music and playing the guitar (I mean I do my best, but I definitely need some lessons).
I tend to enjoy visiting museums or exhibitions and going outside, discovering new places in my own city, sitting in a nice café. I get easily bored if I spend too much time inside (unless its in a meeting, having fun).
I also enjoy sports, all of them. I play football at least once a week , and I can't stand not playing for too long. I like others sports too, like, basketball, volleyball... I even used to swim and row. Oh! And I LOVE the Olympics!
Finally, I like spending time outdoors, at a park in my city or at any forest/mountain/city/beach (in that order) while I'm traveling. I have a great respect for wildlife and nature, and every kind of landscape I run into. Even though it's been a long time since I've last done it, I like to camp.

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, I listen a lot of different styles of music. My favorite band is Pink Floyd, no doubt about it, but then I really like blues, and rock, progressive, symphonic, or just rock. I like some kinds of metal, folk, instrumental... well, I'm open to a lot of kinds of music. Movies... all time favorite: Jurassic Park. Other random movies I do enjoy: The Lion King, Titanic, I loved Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Whiplash, Lilo & Stitch, Before Sunrise, Room (Not "The Room"!), every Tarantino's and Woody Allen's film I watched. I am missing a lot of films now, I may update this list :p
Regarding reading, my favorite genre is short stories, and I like Roald Dahl's ones, as well as Ray Bradbury's Edgar Allan Poe's, Neil Gaiman's, even Lovecraft's. I also like novels and essays, but now I buy more books than I can read, so I tend to stick with short stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

No. Two: 1- I went backpacking with my best friend some time ago and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I learned a lot, I grew up as a person and as a friend and I had a lot of fun with my friend and with people we met along the way. 2- I went to live a semester to Prague, and pretty much the same: I learned a lot, made friends and met valuable people. Had a lot of fun, but also grew a lot and got new perspectives on life. It was a life-changing experience that I will never forget.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH: physics :p Just kidding! (or not...?). Whatever I know, I share. I could teach you my language, some cooking, my culture, some reaaallly basic guitar playing, maybe? We can find out as we go :)

LEARN: I will probably learn whether it's your intention or not, bc I'm well predisposed haha, but I usually have particular interest in: customs, lifestyle, language, food, and any skill or hobby you would like to share.

SHARE: What I have, I share :)
