About Me

My name is Laura, but my friends call me Lali. I am a translator (English/Spanish) from Córdoba, Argentina. Since I was a kid, I was very curious about places and used to read lots of books about travel. I remember myself dreaming of travelling. And when I grew up, I knew that I wanted to discover the world. I would describe myself as a very positive and fun person, open to new experiences. I am fond of new cultures and I want to enrich my life by learning how people live in different countries.
MY PHILOSOPHY: Never give up on dreams

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I want to share with people from different countries in their own settings and understand cultures first hand. Moreover, I also want to provide a positive experience about my own country and idiosincrasy to people from all over the world.

From reading to writing and dancing, I absolutely love everything that takes me out of my comfort zone and teaches me new lessons.

Music, Movies, and Books

Reading and listening to music is food for my spirit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2006, I travel with my two best friends to Hawaii and lived there for 4 amazing months, working in a local restaurant called Da Kitchen (best local food, a must if you happen to visit Maui). I had the chance to swim very close to the Humpback whales, that travel every winter to the costs of Hawaii to reproduce. Simply beautiful!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach about my country and our identity, food and language, the history that defines my culture.

Learn about history of other cultures to understand their idiosincrasy (I've always been very curious about people) from an insider's perspective.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I want to share all I know about Argentina and our roots, as well as my experiences in other parts of the world (have some quite insteresting anecdotes).

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Netherlands Antilles, New Zealand, North Korea, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Seychelles, South Africa, Spain, Tanzania, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam
