About Me
Hello, I am Özgü from Turkey! I am almost 21, studying Law in Istanbul (that was my dream city to live in!) I have a brother who is younger than me for 2 years, he is my best friend. I love being with him, chatting with him and dreaming with him about our near future.
And I love travelling, I love meeting new people and making new friends around the world, I have been joined so many international projects I have friends in so many different countries so far.
That's my dream to see the all countries in the world and making memories to tell my kids :))
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As I said, I love travelling, I love meeting new people from all over the world! It is really amazing to see other cultures, other traditions and maybe learn some basic languages of them :)
I believe if we can have a chance to see the world, we can have a chance to change it & shape it to make it a better place to live in!
Living in the same home with foreigners is a great chance to observe their culture and their normal lives personally.
I also hosted so many people for some projects, girls from Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic and Azerbaijan. I also shared houses with Italian people when I was in Italy, it was amazing. I hope to have the same experience in other countries with couchsurfing as well! :))
Interests
I am in love with theatre! I got educated about theatre for 10 years, including high-school plays, education from our State Theatre Association. I always wanted to be an actress but conditions of living didn't allow me :( I am just an audience for now.
Besides it, I am trying to practise my law knowledge and my future career by joining the court competitions and stuff.
I am also an AIESECer which is a great leadership organisation in the world, I love changing people and making an impact on them, it makes me feel important and succesful!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading books, I can read 4 or 5 books in the same time, haha!
I am in love with Jodi Picoult's all books (The Pact is my fav), she writes so realistic and available for emphaty.
Besides it, Harry Potter and his mates made my childhood!!! The books & movies of it are awesome!
And the movie Theory of Everything is also one of my favs, his acting is so good and acting performances are so important to me so I loved that movie.
I have so many favourite songs but I can tell you that I love Maroon 5 - One More Night, Plain White T's - Hey There Delilah touchs my heart. And the movie clip of Taylor Swift - Blank Space is so good and makes me smile :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I and my boyfriend has travelled to Italy in April 2015 for a week as tourists, we had been in Rome, Florance, Milan, Venice and Bologna. Venice was our last night and the next day we went to Bologna to have our flight back to come home.
In Venice, we had no place to stay and we planned to stay in train station for a night. But at the midnight 12, security came and told us the station is closed. I was so affraid about what to do and where to go. We decided to sit on the stairs in front of the station and wait for it to become open. There were other people also waiting for it. In the next hours, we got hungry, started to eat cookies and we offered it to other people as well. And then we started to chat about our lives, figured out so many different stories together. The night was going too bad and suddenly, the night became the greatest night of my life! We even became FB friends and planning to meet again in Venice in 2025, I hope we can make it :) That was a big thing for me to meet strangers and spend a night with them in the street but I really felt strong and brave after that night :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching is not possible if you don't learn first. Learning must be a lifestyle and can long forever. Learning can be by books or by travelling. Both gives you to observe other worlds.
And teaching = sharing i think. You can share your informations, your knowledges and your experiences while you try to teach something. This kind of communication can effect people and develop them as well. And I was a part of "teaching project" last summer in Hungary. I worked as a volunteer for the Language School AngolFalu, we tried to show our cultures and teach these kids some basic info with basic games, It was a great feeling to share my own culture with these young people and observe them to try to communicate with me and my other volunteer friends!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my culture very well. I will represent my country the best way I can do. I am planning to bring some Turkish sweets to my hosts and Turkish coffee to show how can they cook it and maybe some future-telling stories with these coffee, haha!
That will be one of the best experiences in my life :)
