About Me

I'm a major in finance and I love meeting new places, I'm from Colombia, a country with so many natural wonders that I believe everyone in the world should visit at least once in their lifetime. I love traveling and meeting new cultures, you grow up a little with every travel, you change, you move forward. Recently I took the important life decision of leaving my country to study a master in France, a country a find so fascinating. I plan on coming back after my studies to contribute to the empowerment of my country.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing to share my culture and meet new people while traveling in a different way, It's better when you visit a place by the hand of a local, just as I would say that Colombia is not only sandy beaches, sun kissed cartagena and coffee you, people would also tell me Atlanta is not only about a massive airport and CNN, and that LA is not in any way just about glitzy Beverly Hills.

Interests

I love meeting the places that locals love but tourists rarely get to know, the small cafés, nice cozy restaurants, the terraces and music venues you'd go on a friday night with friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music to be honest. I love latin american literature, it's so eye opening, my personal favorite is "100 years of solitude" by Gabriel García Marquez and then comes "the time of the hero" by Mario Vargas Llosa.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to watch the stars in the valley of death in the heart of California, I got to watch the entire Orion arm of our galaxy, it's really something humbling, remember what the late Carl Sagan said once, we are just a pale blue dot in the middle of the darkness of this universe, all our hopes and fears, happy and sad moments, love stories, wars and famines, everything good and bad of humanity fits into a little dot that's less than a pixel.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn languages, language exchange is a win-win thing for me, it's definitely amazing to be able to feel a little bit like a local everywhere by immersing totally into someones culture.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a real good cup of Colombian coffee, I can share some Colombian food recipes (I'm not the best cook in the world but I do my best) and most importantly I can share my language knowledge with you, no matter what in what language you'd like to speak, I'm always in with a smile. I love stargazing, the night sky is a really amazing thing, I'm an aficionado and if I'd love to share my knowledge.
