About Me

It's the same the whole world over (Tutto il mondo è paese)

An idiom that my dad used to frequently repeat has been quite enspiring.

ABOUT

Italo-iranian girl born and brought up in Norhtern Italy (Padova, near Venice). Living now in Krakow.

I started to move in and move out when I was 14. We had to move to Iran for my parents job and I attended an Italian school in Tehran until my 18s. Then I moved back to Padova for a year didn't like it much and decided to move to Milan. Bad move, it was a interesting experience but it's not my cup of tea - too greyish caotic stressful city for me. In my 2nd year of University I moved to Krakow (poland) for erasmus (if you are wondering whether to apply for erasmus or not DO IT. It's a must). I loved the country, the people, the cosmopolitan atmsphere, the city, the cultural life, festivals, opportunities. I am planning to go back there one day... Then passing through Portugal for some conferences I have lived in Iran again for an Internship at a french NGO in 2014. I have lived in Oxford for 4 months this summer (internship), I loved it there!! UK is so multicultural and has so much to offer entertainment both in terms of entertainment (concerts, plays, festivals) and academic (open lectures, seminars et). I have been in Moscow twice in 2016, attending Pushkin language institute and living in a dorm - particular and shaping experience.
I moved then to Padua recently and worked as a project writer and Intercultural education teacher for a local NGO, moved to Ireland afterwards and worked there as a proxy advisor for corporate governance.
Now I am back where everything started, as a graduate student in an MA at UJ in Krakow.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy life and don't take it too seriously, don't bear grudge and try not to judge at first glance. Respect others, diversity is a value. Explore explore explore :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been thinking about creating a profile and when I was in Oxford for an internship in summer 2015 I thought it would be a perfect start to meet new people! It's an international platform and this is just enough to catch my attention!
Plus it's a cheap way to travel (as a student this is quite relevant to take in consideration) and have the chance to meet many interesting people, locals and international! A unique way to share stories, experiences and have a good time :)

Interests

I enjoy - exchange of opinions. I love to share experiences with different people, listen to their stories, their opinions, their thoughts and add mine. I like to get to know people's interests and give it a try, I'm always in search of new experiences, a new hobby to try, an activity to experiment, sports to try, new tastes to discover... And I do play magic cards, and no it's not for kids

I love walking around in a city or hiking, especially in the mountain, spending a day on a lake and going for day trips. I am a member of a language exchange group that meets every thursday for a drink in Padova and I try to join them each time I pass by Italy to meet knew people and get to know more cultures. You can literally find people from any remote corner of the world! I enjoy dancing although I am not a big fun of clubs and prefer alternative music to commercial one, I like clubbing from time to time though..dancing takes the stress off. Plus, I play touch-rugby

Music, Movies, and Books

Personally I love reading, especially epic-fantasy books or socio-political novels/autobiographies.

I particualarly like reggae,R&B,dancehall, downtempo, chillout, Indie Rock and Indie Pop music but I am pretty flexible on that. Also I love to be introduced to new genres so normally my playlist gets updated by friends or people I meet :)

My film range is pretty wide. I enjoy thriller-science fiction-crime-autobiographical kind of movies but sunday movies are welcomed as well if I had a long week.
