About Me

Ever-curious data analyst and translator by day - observer, philologist, and an amateur bricoleuse by night. I cook much better than speak of myself.

This year's all about first times, so...
here I go, knock knock knocking on your CS door.

Reality update: COVID-19 fully vaxxed

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I strongly believe that people can get by much better together, exchanging experiences and opening themselves to strangers. Life's too short to use hotels, better make friends with people than tv channels that most of the time we're left to late at night.

Interests

Tropicalia, calligraphy, arts and crafts, Mediterranean cooking, poetry writing, music, music all the way!

Music, Movies, and Books

Each year it gets harder to name a favorite, every favorite being a favorite in its kind. Here a few:
Caetano Veloso, Funkadelic, Ennio Morricone, Elis Regina, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Talkin Heads, Cesária Évora.

Chungking Express, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Portrait de la jeune fille en feu, Orfeu Negro, Cría cuervos

Clarice Lispector, Andrzej Bobkowski, Joan Didion, Jun'ichirō Tanizaki

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I know I am deepening now the stereotype of a constant pierogi-munching-Pole, but last year's pierogi challenge was a pretty big deal for me. Made happy 5 people with the total of 60 little perfections.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to roll your tongue into "flower" shape (aka how to curse in Polish), how to make a decent Dutch baby pancake and (in case you are a lemon tart enthusiast) how to bake a paradise. Long story short - food is my gratitude language...

I'd love to learn everything you're willing to teach. My favorite keepsakes are the ways I've learned from the people I've met. Be it a recipe, a way of fixing a bike brake, your fav spots around the city or a new perspective.

Always willing to share a bottle of wine or a glass of gin tonic, which both come along best with good stories.

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Poland, Portugal
