About Me

Hi there! I am Santiago -or Santi if you like-. I am a colombian guy who is starting a new episode in his life consisting in living in a different country. I am still trying to learn all the things I ignore and teach the few things that I know

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I began using CS because it was a great opportunity to discover the world. Now that I have lived some stories, I would like to say that I am on CS to discover worlds: Each space and person is a different world waiting to create and share memories.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: 1280 Almas is the answer I found to that question of What's your favourite band? Punk, Ska, Rock, Latin rhythms and joy over all!
I am also good for almost all kind of music. If it's my turn to recommend something I am sure I can give some musical surprises to a lot of people.
Movies: I am currently lost when it is up to movies, but in my good times of watching films I enjoyed a lot of good times with films by Alex de la Iglesia. Also, a good Tarantino classic will never be a wrong choice.
Books: My current reading selection is based on all the work by Philip K. Dick (VALIS). I also love latin literature as Julio Cortazar (Todos los fuegos el fuego), Garcia Marquez (Ojos de Perro Azul) and Eduardo Galeano (El libro de los abrazos).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To see the tallest mountain next to the sea: Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. To cross around Cocuy Park by a +100km walk. But I think that the most amazing thing i have done is to travel Suramerica

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I have teaching in my blood as my parents were school teachers in my hometown. My skills include Maths, Spanish, awful Cooking and a lot of history of Latin America. Some say that even dancing but it just depends on how much do you know.
Learn: I also have been a student for almost my entire life, so learning is something I am really good at. Specially because I have learned that every single one has something to teach. I will be very happy to hear you talk about something you are very passionate at.
Share: Time. I think that time is the most important way to show respect. Be sure that if you are sharing something with me I will apreciatte and respect your time by giving my best in living what it's being told to me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a really helpful person. I don't know how to cook traditional dishes from my land but we can learn together both yours and mine. Some say I am funny and smart, so maybe not-so-bad talks!
