About Me

As you can maybe guess from my name I'm partly Colombian partly German. I was born in Colombia and have been living in Germany since I'm four. At the moment my plans for the future don't reach much further than the next two or three years so I can't tell you much about what I plan to do after college. But probably working in journalism and NGOs are what I can imagine doing in the future. Rather than working as a politician ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm really interested in people's attitudes and moral beliefs around the world, and I think that dialogue and travelling are really good ways to get into that. Also it's quite sad to spend a night in a foreign city when you only get to know your typical Germans and Americans, like you usually do in a hostel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some years ago I was a lot into Queens of the stone age. The black keys, led zeppelin and some German olschool rap. But now I've discovered more electronic music, Colombian traditional stuff and global rap music for me. So nearly every genre that actually works with recorded instruments.

The books I last read were by Kafka, Huxley, Schiller, Jack Kerouac and Voltaire. But there's still a whole lot of things I need to read as soon as possible!

Into the wild, fight club, snatch and some of Tarantinos and David Lynchs movies should be some of my favorites I think.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think volunteering in an Indigenous Reservoir in Colombia and helping to build a house for a local family there was really special for me. I soon realized that most volunteering programs aren't about 19 year old European kids saving the world, but rather about cultural exchange and experiences. So I really started to respect their way of living as a real alternative, that's neither better nor worse than the life I'm leading now.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: some more ore less useful hiking things, some really useful Colombian or German cooking skills & maybe some experience on how to start an own little magazine

Learn: I really want to learn/improve my Italian or French and my Arabic knowledge is barely existent. (I kind of know the alphabet) And obviously im open for all you want to teach me.
