About Me

California girl that was living in a Texas world. I recently moved to China to teach at an international school before I proceed to pursue a law degree. I currently plan on advocacy work in juvenile justice, education, or something related to child welfare. I taught a little over 2 years at Indiana Math and Science Academy in Indianapolis through Teach for America. Earned my MAT from Marian University. I previously worked for the Mayor and City Council in Laredo, TX, & as a legal clerk at a business law firm. I really enjoy learning about politics, law, & international current events for leisure. I love exploring new places and learning about new cultures! I'm very comfortable with diversity and controversies. I always try to understand others even if I may not think similarly. I find people fascinating and am kind hearted, open minded, & respectful. I talk a lot...maybe too much (you've been warned). I love music, dancing, nature, and art! My most recent job before moving abroad was at Texas A&M International University's Assessment, Research & Planning Office, where I was also involved in diversity, inclusion and equality efforts on my free time. I'm very open-minded and TEFL certified, so feel free to practice your English with me! Although I enjoy teaching, I'm forever a student at heart.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think there's something beautiful about connecting with strangers and showing kindness to others without expectations or motives. The world is a shared place for us to enjoy and exchange positivity. I hope to learn that this is a fantastic way to meet locals & expats to make friends that offer whatever they feel inclined to offer, such as tips and advice! I also hope to facilitate a positive experience for others when they stay with me!

"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
