About Me
My first time using couchsurfing!
I have just finished a Masters in Economic History at the University of Cambridge and have come to Israel on a 'Taglit' trip.
I love travelling, reading, wandering through the city, sitting around a table and talking about life and philosophy, and trying new things. I believe as the world is full of people, you can never truly be alone.
I love sports and play Rugby, Squash, Cross-Country and Football. I also like skiing, bouldering and going on treks.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I came to Israel on Taglit and will be finishing an extension trip - a five day hike - on 29th August. I have spent probably a full year of my life (across my gap year and summer-time travels) staying in hostels - and have become bored of their repetitiveness and generic nature.
I like meeting new people who live in the places I visit, so I thought it might be time to give Couchsurfing a go!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I'm from Manchester which has a rich music heritage. My favourite local bands include Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Smiths, the Courteeners, The 1975, Happy Mondays, Hurts and Joy Division. Besides Manchester Music, I have an eclectic taste in music and listen to everything and anything.
Movies: I like neo-noir film and occasionally watch foreign films, though I am no expert on films - as the only Israeli film I've watched is Waltz with Bashir.
Books: As a historian, I read widely - I actually brought five books with me to Israel! I'm currently reading "Seven Years in Tibet" by Heinrich Herrer and "Anarchism" by Noam Chomsky.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the past: when I was 18 I worked for an NGO in La Paz, Bolivia, for three months. I worked on sexual health awareness and drug abuse with teenagers. Amongst the rewarding work I did whilst there, I also played football (soccer) for the British Embassy football team and was interviewed by local radio after playing an exhibition match against a professional team's academy (we lost the game 8-2).
In the future: In September I am going on a three-week unguided horseback trek of Mongolia with a friend. Just us two, our horses, and the vast open country.
