Overview
About Me
I am Jose, an Information Security Consultant, but in my free time I smile a lot, and I love to know and help people. I am also a volunteer at the Asperger/ Autism Association in Madrid, but playing tennis is my passion.
My girlfriend, Maria, is a highschool English teacher and together, even though we are not from Spain, we are glad to show Madrid to others, meet people, enjoy the life and share our home and knowledge about Madrid history.
We are really easy going, optimistic and open minded, friendly and curious about everything that is new and different.
We have two children, a three years old boy and a one year old girl, and they are the apple of our eyes.
We are living in the west part of Madrid (the most foresty area), in Boadilla del Monte, but as Madrid is one of the best connected cities in Europe , we are really close to public transport Metro Ligero and Bus stations.
We have travelled a lot and we are interested in knowing even more beautiful places and learn even more different people, places and cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We love to show Madrid to other couchsurfers and to make new friends all around the world.
We want to improve our knowledge of the world, to find out about traditions, cultures, different people and backgrounds, interesting languages, but we also like to tell stories about Madrid to our guests.
We only ask that you help us improve our general knowledge with stories of the world as you know it.
If you surf with us, we'd like to take you around the city, to see the places we discovered and love, interesting landmarks and fun facts, but if you play tennis as well, you'll be more than welcome in our home.
Interests
We are curious people, so our interests are varied, we like reading books, swimming, going to the theatre, watching good movies, listening to music, playing tennis, travelling, working with young people as youth workers, meeting new people and talking about their traditions and culture over a long dinner.

We like Forest Gump, Fight Club, Mulholland Drive, Pulp Fiction, Interstellar, The Shawshank Redemption, The Silence of the Lambs, Lord of the Rings, The Pianist, Finding Nemo and many others.
We also like to read and our favourite types are literature and self development ones, like "Déjame que te cuente" and "Cuentos para pensar" by Jorge Bucay, "El Dominio de la Mente" by Ramiro Calle, "El monje que vendio su Ferrari" by Robin Sharma.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We have travelled a lot, we have known a lot of great people, we have heard interesting stories that made us change for the better.
(Jose) I climbed a volcano, I went white water rafting, I skydived with a parachute, but the most incredible thing I've done was to have conquered the most wonderful woman in the known universe...
(Maria) I have joined a project in Italy, where I learnt circus acts: trapeze, silks and aerial dances, a project where I met the love of my life with whom I flew over Madrid in a small airplane.
Teach, Learn, Share
We are open minded, and we like to learn and to share, to meet new people and new cultures. So we can share knowledge about Madrid with our guest, but also all we know about our passions, hobbies, tennis, leadership, cultures and traditions.
What I Can Share with Hosts
First of all, time is very important for us, so we can share our time, as valuable as it is. But also, as you can see from the description, we have travelled a lot, so we can share all the knowledge we have accumulated, curiosities about places we have visited, interesting stories about culture and traditions, our experiences and our dreams. We know various language and we can practice them together, we know how to cook different types of traditional food and we can share open-mindness, freedom and smiles. On top of that, we could have some delicious dinner in our favorite lake restaurant.
