Hello!
My name is Mar Sisqeullas Taixés and I'm an eighteen-year-old girl who has just finished 2nd Batxillerat with distinctions in almost all subjects (9'67 median). My native language is Catalan and I can speak Spanish without difficulty. I can also speak every day English and I have and uper-intermediate level of comprehension and listening.My family is integrated by my parents whom I love very much and towards whom I’m really grateful because nothing would be possible without them, and of course, my twin brother, a really important person in my life in many aspects. I enjoy family dinners where we talk about our future plans and practicing Yoga which has led me to feel unknown sensations and helped me to open my mind. I love very much telling jokes and singing when travelling with my basketball teammates or going out with friends… Nevertheless, I’m really impatient to leave home; to see the world; to practice extreme sport; to build my own lifestyle; to keep in touch with the wilderness… Sometimes my parents may wonder if they’ve done the things right with me: “why do I only want to get away from home?” The problem isn’t with parents or my friends: I desire to eat the world; to face difficult problems by myself. And one day, I’ll return home and say to my parents my life couldn’t have been better and thank them for all they have done.
Energy, liveliness, dynamism are trends which describe my every day’s attitude.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think a person is what he has lived, his own experiences and there's no doubt that Couchsurfing programme will achieve the best of my travels!
I'm really impatient to know about the INDOORS of the country where I would be.

Interests

I love kayaking and adventure sports in general. It's my dream one day to be able to travel around the world in my van and my kayak descending all the rivers wherever possible. Next year, I'm going to take a Gap Year in Australia in order to increase my level in kayaking and in other adventure sports such as: surfing, rock climbing, hiking, rafting, skateboarding, mountain biking....
I also love football, voleyball, yoga and basketball which I have been practiced since I was five!

Music, Movies, and Books

Reggae goes me wild! Bob Marley' songs sound simply fantastic! Amy Winehouse and Michael Jackson also makes me feel so good! I also love etnic or traditional music!

My favourites films are 'Law Abiding Citizen' and 'Spy'. And many of my favourite serie are 'Breaking Bad' 'Perception', 'Mr Robot', 'One Piece'...

I always got excellent marks in my academic life: I have passed the secondary school with a 9'7 mark and Bat with a 9'67 mark. Furthermore, each year I have been invited from universities to participate in several camps during summer time such as: "Food and agriculture" which took place at the University of Extremadura; "Molecular biology" realized in the Pompeu Fabra University; "Physichs Program" at the University of Barcelona; "Chemistry and biochemistry" in Rovira i Virgili University; "IV Campus of advancing in science for students of secondary school" realized in Soria; etc.
I'm also a participant in a program called "Talen Jove", organized and realized every Saturday in "Rovira i Virgili University", which started two years ago in order to select the best students in the Tarragona area to improve their maths and physics knowledge.
I have prepared a group of teenagers (14-15 years) from my high school so that they could participate in a Catalan Mathematic Competition.
I also have imparted maths lessons to my schoolmates who had failed in this subject in order to pass their recuperation exam. And, fortunately, all them passed the exam with good marks.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can lend a hand in whatever the host needs!
I also can cook and share with us many traditional dishes from Catalonia.
