About Me
Update 2022 : Living in Clermont-Ferrand city since 2020, still looking for a small house in the countryside, with some room to make theatre and greet artists. I can host with a one-person bed in the living-room of my apartment.
====
2019 : After 3 years in Romania (PhD in performing arts), I am back in France (2019) : I want to settle down in the country side, create place which I could share with other people to create, host and get old ;-)
Meanwhile, I keep on working as a theater artist, traveling here and there.
You can visit my personel website here : www.julien-daillere.com
I like to learn foreign languages, to meet new people involved in artistic life or simply open to art. I am interested in traditional cultures as far as contemporary ways of spending time together, sharing ideas and feelings about life, books, movies, ways of thinking... Since 2017, I play bambou jaw harp and enjoy playing music with other people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I heard a lot about Couchsurfing when I volunteered for the Sibiu Theater Festival in june 2015. People from all other the world gathering there in Sibiu, sharing interest in theater. Many of them were in the middle of a trip through Europe, traveling thanks to Couchsurfing, telling me about beautiful moments, lovely people they happened to meet through this app. So I registered and I already had great moments thanks to it.
Interests
Art in general. Theater, painting, books... I like traditional arts and profound contempory art. Maybe I am not so fan of those excited superficial shows and all that excentrical-intellectually-explained stuffs that some contempory artists are dealing with. I have interest in art because it's connected with a peacefully way of being, part of our environment and community of people around. This is mysterious. I like yoga too. And cooking (and eating, ha ha). I do French "quiches" quite well ;-)
And I play bambu jaw harp from Cambodia !

Music, Movies, and Books
I like many different musics. And books too (Hermann Hesse, Tristan Egolf, Agota Kristof, Robert Walser, Jean Giono, Valère Novarina, Henry Bauchau...).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2015, I left Paris to study (PhD) in Târgu Mureş, Romania : most of people there found it quite amazing. Well... Some of them thought I am crazy. Well... Some of them sort of understood my search and became very good friends. I came back to France after my thesis in 2019.
Teach, Learn, Share
Languages, cooking? Who knows? Sometimes a nice talk, a moment shared, a walk... Something without aiming at teaching or learning or sharing, is something beautiful too. I believe in goals achieved while not aiming at them.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Drawing and cooking. At that time, I am learning poems by heart, in different languages that I can speak... or not. So far, I can tell you poems in German, in Czech, in Hebrew (thanks Couchsurfing) and Hungarian. Maybe you will teach me a poem in your language?
