Hello everyone! My name is Jorge Gonçalves and I come from Lisbon, Portugal.

I'm finishing my Mechanical Engineering Course, but my big passion is music. I love to play guitar, mainly electric. Last year I decided to start learning Swedish! Never been to Sweden, but I will visit it really soon. I see Sweden as a possible country to emigrate, so why not starting to learn the language? =P

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I'm new on couchsurfing. I decided to join to meet new people and places, to have new experiences! But yes mainly to meet people from other countries^^

Right now I can't host people at my place, because I still live in my parent's house. And they don't like the idea of hosting people.
One more year and if everything goes well I'll go live by myself and then I'll finally be able to host =)

Intereses

Music is by far my main interest. Going to concerts, search for new bands, learning new things in the guitar, etc. I also like cinema, travelling and stand-up comedy!

Música, películas y libros

Let's begin with music! I mainly like Heavy Music, but there are many exceptions.

My first love was Guns N'Roses, followed by Metallica, Pantera, Korn, Nirvana and System of a Down. Later on I found bands like Tool and Russian Circles that changed a lot my perspective. Eminem, probably the only hip-hop artist I really like. António Variações is my favourite portuguese artist. Slash is my favourite guitar player, followed by perhaps Adam Jones (who opened so much my vision).

MOVIES

-Pulp Fiction, must have seen like 7 times the movie so far =P
-Dead Poets Society, what an inspirational movie!
-American Beauty, love it and helped me a lot to make an important decision in my life.
-Other movies/sagas I like a lot: Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, REC, The Ring.

TV SERIES

-Six Feet Under, my favourite serie of all time.

BOOKS

I've read several books, but reading is not really my thing. At least for now, maybe one day this will change =) I hope so! Until now the only books that really got my atention were the Harry Potter's.

COMEDY

My favourite comediant of all time: Bill Hicks! Followed by the great Henry Rollins!^^

Algo increíble que he hecho

Did an inter-rail in 2010!
Jumped of a bridge in 2011. It was to fight my fear for heights, but honestly it only got worse =P
Won this huge bands competition in my country, having the oportunity to play in the Avante Festival in 2013.
Recorded a CD with my former band in a huge studio. Hope it will be the first of many^^

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I can teach some things of my language (portuguese) and some tips on the guitar =P

I don't know exactly what I want to learn, I guess I'm opened for what it may come =).

No wait, there's something I would like to know! Specially in Sweden! The main places where concerts take place, from the most underground to the most famous. Also I would love to see/meet some metal bands from there =). "Amateur" bands of course, I don't think it will be easy to reach Opeth or Meshuggah guys =P
