About Me

I should say that I love to talk a lot. I'm also very intense in my way of living and feeling and I try always to be faithful to my ideas.
I've always loved movies and have therefore consecrated a lot of time to it, as a matter of fact, I'm currently running a Film Society here in Caracas specialized in recent french movies.
The other pillar of my live are my 2 children of whom I'm enormously proud. Medicine is my way of making a living and it also helped me in the way of understanding what life and human beings are.
Culture and arts are others important poles of myself, I paint (in the pictures you can see some of my work), I love to go and see plays, ballet, opera , as much as I like to stay in reading.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to travel not only to know places but also for meeting locals. I think you get to know a country best when you get in contact with people who actually live there and know the city from the inside.
I also want to offer this to the people that would like to come to Venezuela.
I love to share with others, in fact I belive thats what I like the most in life.

Interests

My interest´s are cinema, history, painting, to travel, to know other people and to live deeply.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I love old italian movies (Italian neorealism), and Etore Scola films like "We All Loved Each Other So Much", "A special day" or "Ugly, dirty and Bad". Also
Emir Kusturica "When Father Was Away on Business", Francis Ford Coppola "Rumble Fish". Many of Luis Buñuels films like "The Phantom of Liberty". Bob Fosse "All that Jazz". David Lynch "Wild at Heart". Woody Allen "Hanna an her sisters" and many others. Pedro Almodovars "Talk to her”. I adore “The Scent of Green Papaya” by Tran Anh Hung and “Moonstruck” by Norman Jewison. "And your mother too" by Alfonso Cuarón and Pixar´s Ratatouille.
Recently I loved "Inherent Vice", "Birdman," "The Artist", "My week with Marilyn".
And there are these films I loved watching as a child like "The sound of the music”.
Books: I love historical novels, like “The Accursed Kings” by Maurice Druon, and all the novels of Venezuelan Francisco Herrera Luque.
Other novels like Somerset Maugham “The Razor´s Edge”, Aldous Huxley “Brave New World" and Vargas Llosa´s "Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter”. Milan Kundera's novels and Mikhail Bulgakov's "The Master and Margarita".
I really love Guy de Maupassant´s short stories and those of Horacio Quiroga, Edgar Allan Poe and Oscar Wild.
I love Alfredo Bryce Echenique novels and also Agatha Christie´s crime novels.
Music is not my strong side, however, my ex-husband is a jazz musician and composer so I´ve been exposed to music for many years.
I love all kinds of music from classical to folk music. I´m slightly
eclectic in my musical preferences.
