About Me

Salut! I'm Latvian, currently doing an exchange semester in Pau, southern France. Je peux communiquer en français aussi.

I'm trying to figure out how to lead the best life and make the world at least a little better.
Forever curious and constantly learning new things.

I prefer a minimalist lifestyle. Usually travel by hitchhiking. And I love spontaneous ideas. Even if it turns out bad, it still makes a good story! And I write lots of those, also I'm working on a novel.

I consider myself a friendly and empathetic person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because helping each other out is the best way to get ahead, isn't it?

Interests

literature, art, writing, nature, effective altruism, music, vegetarianism/veganism, activism, deep and/or completely pointless talks, dumb jokes, living cheap, hitchhiking, swinging in the swings, running, swimming, psychology, philosophy, trying out new things

Actually, I'm interested in basically everything to some degree and always eager to learn more.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: psychedelic/alternative rock, indie, jazz, blues, shoegaze, techno, synthpop etc. I like weird music. But also some catchy pop songs.

Favorite movies: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring, The Elephant Man, Poetry

Books: hard to tell exactly, but my favorite genres are psychological realism and magical realism.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiked an ambulance car full of people and had other awesome adventures during my two hitchhiking eurotrips in 2015 and 2016.

Teach, Learn, Share

"Don't judge what you don't understand" is a quote I live by.
And another one: "It is what it is."

What I Can Share with Hosts

A couple drinking games, talks and stories, a helping hand, a place to sleep and shower and an opportunity to easily find a host and/or people to hang out with if they ever go to Riga (Latvia).

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Latvia, Netherlands
