Soy Arnau ("Are now") y soy de Barcelona, ​​España. Estoy viajando por América des de hace un año y nueve meses, casi siempre haciendo autostop o dedo, tratando de no tomar autobuses, usando couchsurfing, durmiendo en casas de amigos y acampando en playas o en parques naturales.

Comencé mi viaje el 18 de agosto de 2017 en Colombia, donde estuve tres semanas, luego cuatro meses en California, cinco meses en México, tres meses en Canadá, tres meses en la costa del noroeste y del oeste de los Estados Unidos, 10 días en Argentina, en Rosario, donde me encontré con varios amigos de Barcelona, dos meses en Uruguay, dos meses y medio más en Argentina, y ahora llevo un par de semanas en Chile, por la zona de Santiago y Valparaíso, por donde estaré hasta mediados de junio, antes de parar en Barcelona de nuevo.

I'm Arnau (like "Are now") and I'm from Barcelona, Spain. I've been traveling around America for the last year and seven months, almost always hitchhiking, trying to not take buses, using couchsurfing, sleeping in friends' houses and camping on beaches or on natural parks.

I started my trip the 18th of August of 2017 in Colombia, where I stayed three weeks, then four months in California, five months in Mexico, three months in Canada and now again in the States, discovering the Northwest and West Coast for two months and a half, 10 days in Argentina, in Rosario, where I met several friends from Barcelona, ​​two months in Uruguay and already back to Argentina, where I want to spend three months.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Estoy en Couchsurfing porque no entiendo mi viaje sin Couchsurfing, no tendría sentido ya que para mi es la mejor forma de viajar, porque creo que viajar es convivir, es conocer otros lugares, otras culturas, otras tradiciones, otras ideas, y vivirlas como si fueras un lugareño más. Siempre he pensado que viajar es muy bonito y divertido y que hay lugares en el mundo increibles, pero lo que realmente hace la diferencia entre un buen viaje y un viaje espectacular es la gente que te encuentras por el camino. Sin duda, cuando regrese a Barcelona abriré mi casa para recibir couchsurfers.

I'm in Couchsurfing because I don't understand my trip without Couchsurfing, it wouldn't make sense because for me it's the best way to travel, because I believe that traveling is to coexist, is to know other places, other cultures, other traditions, other ideas, and live all them as if you were one local more. I've always thought that traveling is very beautiful and cool and that there are incredible places in the world, but what really makes the difference between a good trip and an awesone trip is the people that you meet along the way. Without a doubt, when I will return to Barcelona I will open my house to receive couchsurfers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ver a las ballenas grises en la Laguna Ojo de Liebre, en Guerrero Negro, en Baja California Sur, México, con sus ballenatos y poder tocarlas. Ir a la Playa del Mogote, en La Paz, también en Baja California Sur, y nadar durante 4 horas con tiburones ballena y delfines salvages. Nadar y jugar con lobos marinos en Los Frailes, en Cabo Pulmo, en la Baja Sur.

Watch the gray whales in Ojo de Liebre Lagoon, in Guerrero Negro, in Baja California Sur, Mexico, with their calves and be able to touch them. Go to Playa del Mogote, in La Paz, also in Baja California Sur, and swim for 4 hours with whale sharks and wild dolphins. Swim and play with sea lions in Los Frailes, in Cabo Pulmo, in Baja Sur.
