About Me

Hello, I'm currently teaching in Ho Chi Minh City, before that I lived in South Korea for 3 years, working as an ESL Teacher at a Private Elementary School.

I used to perform stand up comedy in London (favourites include Mitch Hedberg, Stewart Lee, Demetri Martin, John Hastings and Doug Stanhope amongst others) and interned at various music labels before I moved to Asia, also helped out at a friends clubnight - pretty open and sociable guy. Bit of a music snob but none of us are perfect.

Interests

Stand Up Comedy
Live Music
Clubbing
Exercise - cardio and weightlifting (recently completed a Spartan Race in Korea)
History - Museums are usually on my list of things to do in new cities
Local food/cuisine.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Into post punk/industrial/post rock/noise/DnB/early dubstep/electronica/ambient. 65daysofstatic, Queens Of The Stone Age, mclusky, Carly Rae Jepsen (no joke) and Fuck Buttons are favourites.
Books - Have a wide ranging taste in literature, but 'classic' literature is a weakness of mine that I'm looking to improve upon. Currently reading Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first experience riding a motorcycle was 2 days spent around Taiwan's Taroko Gorge, a series of narrow roads carved into cliffs, with a 300 foot drop minimum on either side. Due to the weather, there's also rainforest/jungle all over the top of these cliffs so I was riding alongside monkeys swinging through trees. Whilst there I also explored a Buddhist temple carved into sheer cliff face, which had a waterfall running through the middle. Staggeringly beautiful region.

I crashed in the Hostel Car Park. Which was both extremely fortunate and incredibly embarrassing.
