Overview
About Me
I am Ismael Castillo and I come from Mexico. I am 35 years old and living in Sweden after I finished my PhD in electrical engineering.
I love travelling as light as possible and trying to experience the moments as if I was a citizen of the country I am in. I do not like going to 5 stars hotels or expensive places where I only will find other tourists. I prefer to meet the local people in local places and drink the local beer, eat traditional food.
I like travelling alone or in small groups, the best trips I've ever had were in this way.
I am a really calm person, so when I return to my hostel I don't do too much. Maybe I can see a movie or edit my pictures, nothing really special.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like the idea of sharing the places with local people, have good talks and meet cool people. I wish I have my own aparment to share it in this way, but still is impossible in this moment.
Interests
I love taking pictures (specially Landscapes or architecture) as my main hobby. Also, I am a musician and play the piano. I also enjoy dancing salsa (or almost any kind of dace). Nightclubs are not my favourite place to go, but still, I can try them sometimes.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am not sure about the names of the styles of music I like, but I would say basically Classical, electronic (lounge/indie/ or low beat), jazz and blues. I love all kind of science fiction Movies and Books. Now I'm reading Foundation, of Asimov.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think I have not lost the capacity for amazement
Teach, Learn, Share
During a trip, I can teach you some photography tricks. Also, It is good to have company when going around trying to get some pictures, since every photographer needs inspiration and subjects to be in the frames (yes, you can be my model and I will be your trip photographer).
I always want to learn all the traditions and customs of the local people in the country I am visiting.
