This is Irem. I'm from Turkey. However, currently I'm living in Gdansk, Poland. After spending 10 years in Istanbul, I have moved to Poland to work in an international company. It was a huge change in my life.

I studied literature and then media. I really like all kinds of culture and art. Especially, cinema, literature and music. I am fond of the satisfying pleasure of a well-done chat about art.

I'm not an extrovert person but when I travel alone I really like making connections and seeing yourself once again when you share your life story. I like these mirror stages in our lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I often miss my family and friends here but I believe that exploring around and meeting people that make you feel at home is the greatest thing travelling can provide you. Therefore, I'm looking forward to meeting new people and hearing different stories on their side!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being a part of a story telling memory walk group which tries to take attention to 'hidden' or 'suppressed' history of cities, making visible the nationalization and militarization of public space.

Wrote a story thanks to a sudden muse within two hours and won a first prize in a story contest.
