Two years ago I decided to go back to college and earn my degree, it has been the best decision of my life, I absolutely love being a student and being back in education. The opportunities that have come my way and the things I am doing were not even on my radar a few years ago. And now the next big adventure is about to begin when I embark on a trip to South America after Christmas. When I return from Argentina I will almost immediately be going to Southern Spain to go to college in Granada as part of my Erasmus programme. This is a very exciting part of my life, I cannot wait for the adventure to begin.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As part of my college course I am traveling to South America to teach English for 5 months in Argentina. I am flying there 6 weeks early and plan to travel around some of the other countries in SA in particular Peru, Bolivia and Chile. Couch surfing seems the perfect way to do this as I will be immersed in the culture and meeting local people who can point me in the right direction when traveling around. I have many friends who have couch surfed and they recommend it as the best way to travel. Although it is new to me I am open to new experiences and feel this will be a great one for me. As I am a very social person couch surfing will provide great opportunities to meet new and diverse people as I travel around.

Interests

I love traveling and have traveled a lot around Ireland and the European countries that I have visited. I love learning about the history, culture, architecture and food of different countries. I also love cooking, I get great satisfaction from feeding people and knowing they really enjoyed their food :-)
I love swimming, in particular outdoors, be it at a beach in a river or a lake and I am really looking forward to the warmer waters of the south pacific.
I am a people person and love sharing stories of life and cultures.
Being Irish I love having fun and the crack.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music.
I have an interest in many genres and am not stuck in any particular era, I like Bob Marley and early U2, Eurythymics and Queen.
Books.
I loved the girl with the dragon tattoo and the song of ice and fire series which led to the game of thrones which I also liked but I am much more a book person than a TV person.
Movies.
I love musicals Moulin Rouge, Oliver, Les Miserables and more. I do like comedy films and have been going regularly to the cinema for years.
I can usually be heard humming or singing as I drive or walk along :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gave birth to my awesome daughter who is a fabulous young woman now :-)
I did a parachute jump 4 years ago, it was absolutely Amazing :-)
I also really loved swimming off a boat in the middle of the Mediterranean and riding a camel along the edge of the Sahara desert.
During the summer in Ireland I swim in the lakes and the sea, I love going off on a sunny evening and having a swim as the sun goes down. I also love lying out on a starry or moonlit night watching the sky.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to be a chef so I love cooking so would be very happy to cook and share tips.
And I also do massage, Reiki, Reflexology,sound healing and other holistic therapies.
I can share about my culture and sing some Irish songs.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would be very happy to share a massage or reflexology session with any of my hosts and cook a meal or just sit and share a few beers while we tell stories or have a sing song.
