About Me

I'm Jaime, 20 years old and I live near the center of Madrid (with my parents).
I think I'm a nice person who likes help others, socialize and meet new people. I'm a bit shy but not antisocial. I'm open minded.
I'm going to start my second year of college im my Philosophy degree. I also started to study German last month.

I prefer to be in a quiet place (like a bar or a park) having some beers with friends instead of going to discos (I don't have so much fun on them).

Not much use social networks.
I don't like social conventions or take things for granted.
I like animals and I do not mind sharing the house with them.

I would like travel around the world, learn languages and know the cultures closely (I'm a little frustrated because I 've only visited two countries).
Right now I would like to travel to Germany or any German-speaking country to learn German and meet new people (with my vegan friend Sergio, because we are studing it).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On one hand , this year I met Marco, an Italian Erasmus guy who loves Spain and two brothers from Germany. Meet people from other countries has made me want to travel and learn languages.
And on the other hand , I am a student who don't have job , so my resources are limited and CS is a fun and economical way to get to know other people, cultures , languages and cities.

Interests

Travel .
Learn languages (now I'm very interested in german).
Met new people.
Learn from other cultures.
I practise Krav Magá and other self-defense systems and I like it so much.
Some years ago I used to play videogames but now I've lost practice because I don't have much time. Altough I always can remember old times (It's always fun to play with friends).

Music, Movies, and Books

I prefer music with political or social protest content. I hate reggaeton . I don't like mainstream music .
When I was little I used to listen to groups like Sum 41, Linkin Park , Green Day, Blink 182, My chemical romance ... but now I hear more rap , ska and a bit reggae.

I'm not a big movie buff but I like to watch movies. I prefer films about social criticism, with intellectual content and which don't leave you indifferent.
One of the last I saw was "Enemy" and recommend. I had to see it twice in a row in order to understand.
I don't like the typical American (or Spanish) bad comedies or films like "Fast and furious", "The Hangover", etc.
I don't have a favorite movie, but some that I like are: "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," "Enemy at the Gates", "La vita è bella", "Nuovo Cinema Paradiso", "Fight Club", "Django Unchained", "Modern Times ", "Trainspotting", "Johnny got his gun", "Intouchables", "Libertarias", "The Edukators (Die fetten jahre sind vorbei)".
The weirdest movie I've seen is : " Adieu au langage ", Godard.
I am in debt with classics like " Pulp Fiction ," " The Godfather ," " Kill Bill " , etc.
the best series I've ever seen: " Breaking Bad ," "Prison Break" and " Romanzo Criminale ".

I usually read novels (I'm starting with thriller) but what I like most is the theater. My favorite book can be "The God of Small Things".
Some of my recent readings are: "I spit on your grave", "Metamorphosis (Die Verwandlung)", "Demian", "A love of Swann", "The Old man and the Sea".
I like read plays. I also like going with my friend Sonia to see them represented.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching Spanish, some self-defense and cook a tasty risotto and other foods.

I would like to learn languages (especially German) while I enjoy meeting people from other countries. And also learn from other cultures.
