About Me

I love learning about new cultures, and I am fascinated by the different languages and linguistics in general. The more I know about languages, the happier I am.

When I started working as a freelancer, I traveled to Mexico and I just ended up staying in the country, because I fell in love with its people and its culture. I've been living there for two years now. The beach and the laid-back culture here are teaching me to live life slowly.

Unfortunately, I cannot host at the moment, as the place where I'm staying doesn't allow it. However, I try to "hang out" and meet up with people and go to Couchsurfing meetings whenever I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it is a great way to meet new people and learn from them. I feel like it's really the best way to see the city and live like locals do.

I also like to share my experiences and show people around whenever I can, it gives me a different view on my city.

Interests

Reading: there are so many books to read and so little time!

Music: I have also been playing the violin for 7 years and I really love it. I am thinking about learning how to play the cello.

Crochet: I love creating stuff with beautiful colors!

Food: I love to eat and to try new dishes.

Dance: I've been living in Mexico for over a year now, and I started taking folkloric dance lessons. I looooove it! Even though I'm not too good at it yet!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music
I particularly enjoy soundtracks, especially the ones from How to Train Your Dragon 1 and 2, Life is Beautiful, Pirates oft the Caribbean, and Joe Hisaishi's music (mostly Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle and Princess Mononoke).

Movies
Mostly the same I've mentioned above (How to Train Your Dragon 1 and 2, Life is Beautiful, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke), but there's also Coco, Labyrinth of Lies, The Book Thief, Les Intouchables, and probably lots of others.

Books
With so many books to choose from, it's hard for me to decide, but I'll do my best and try not to forget any: the Harry Potter series, The Book Thief, anything by Carlos Ruiz Zafon (mostly The Shadow of the Wind), The Magicians series, Behind the Beautiful Forevers, The Fault in Our Stars, Kafka on the Shore, Berlin Noir, Hunger Games, Tristan and Isolde, L'écume des jours (Froth on the Daydream), Please Ignore Vera Dietz, and sooooo many others!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered (wwoofed) on an organic farm in Japan in 2013. I planted rice by hand. I really had a great time!

I quit my job to travel and I ended up learning kitesurfing in Croatia!
